Nice bed!

The bed was incredibly comfortable. The lake view room had a better view of the highway than the lake. The highway and the air conditioner were loud. The birches in the picture are only visible from the parking area. Very clean and comfortable.

Nice place. Clean. Odd because there's no human contact. Not what I'm used to in the U.P. Also, if the establishment says it has a pool, it should be in working order. (Not sure I would have stayed had I known it wasn't even filled with water. Annoying, and false advertising.) Other than that, a really decent place,if not a little overpriced for what you get....more like a hostel. Good to know it's in Marquette for future stays. Fix the pool, or take it off your ads. 5 yr old wasn't happy

Pretty updated space. Love the waterview. Nice easy check-in process. Wish there was vending and more shower pressure. The window air-conditioner was a little loud, but all and all pretty much a perfect night for tge price point

The Birchy is a unique property & close to beaches & dining. Pretty view of lake from balcony . Beds were extra extra comfy & the modern design & little touches like huge thick towels & travel sized quality shampoos & bath products . The room was spacious & has a good size smart TV ... loved it ! Looks like they thought of everything!

The pictures are deceiving. This property is not maintained, the room was dinghy, pool was empty with weeds growing around it, there was no “adventure” gear except bicycles, towels were worn, bathroom door was broken, and overall it was a dump. The only positives were the location and fast response when we asked for more towels and to have the bathroom door fixed. It is a beautiful property on Lake Superior, but very neglected. I would not stay here again.

The birchy is a very nice modern facility that gives you great access to downtown Marquette and the surrounding area. The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. The ice machine was very helpful. I loved having Thimbleberry bushes in the parking lot. That made my day. The bikes that they had available were very nice although I was very nervous. Crossing the very busy highway that is in the front yard. Overall, I give the facility two thumbs up. We will be back.

A place to stay if you didn't want to sleep in you

Did not like the traffic noise in front of the hotel. In the back of the hotel, there was a lot of gun firing noise. We were a little worry about where the bullets were going to land. You did-not want to cross the road due to a lot of traffic.

Water view doesn't always = balcony.

Although communication is done all on line and via text, The Birchy group does a fabulous job communicating. I was in town for a baby shower and visiting family. One of the reasons I chose this hotel was because of the ability to sit outside on my balcony with a Lake Superior view. Perhaps I missed something, but it looked like all rooms facing the water had a balcony. What I did not realize is while I had a water view, there was a second building that I was unaware of that had no type of balcony/patio. Was so disappointed.

Lakefront location for a reasonable budget

Interesting apartment/hotel with lake views and outdoor lounge seating. Clean, all “smart” — check in, text-based reception desk, windows, etc…
