The hotel was very rundown with broken tiles at the entrance, lots of the walls had black staining on them. Birds had marked them but not cleaned.Outside loungering area looked into a building renovation, upstairs balcony needed cleaned and was not an inviting place to spend time.It was a dirt track road not good for the car.
We checked in and immediately started looking for another place to stay. Of the paid for 2 rooms for a 4 day stay, we didn't stay one night. The rooms (deluxe double and family room) are much smaller and poorly equipped than the pictures indicate. One room was supposed to have 2 sofa beds, there was one and it was a futon that was basically right on the edge of the bed. The lodge is in a residential neighborhood, next door to construction and surrounding by disabled and dismantled tractor trailers. It was farther than indicated from where we wanted to be and it didn't appear to be particularly secure. The place doesn't look complete - it's a retrofitted, large home and at best serves as a hostel with private bathrooms. But, the ladies who did check in and out were consummate professionals and very polite - despite my obvious dissatisfaction and annoyance. They were the highlight. The 'tuscan terrace' looked unfinished and had bird poo all over it. The tables and chairs up there were also scattered and unkempt. I don't recommend this place at all and would urge you to just pay the marginal difference to stay at a lodge or hotel in Ezulwini Valley - if that's your destination.
The rooms were clean and beds comfortable, but that is all. Soap & toilet paper holders were lying on the floor the whole 2 days. One can not walk in the area, the food is beyond basic and they did not have the chicken for the 2nd nights dinner. Due to the location no other options are available, than what the guest house provides. The aircon's blue LED display was not good for sleep, while the outside security lights also made the room too light for deep sleep, and without the AC it was too hot. The last day the included breakfast was not ready at 7am and I had to leave late with cereal and yogurt and no time for tea.
Not a place to recommend to people travelling alone and without private transport.
Had a beautiful stay at Valley View, no noise from neighborhood. All guest sleeps on time, check was quick even though I came close to midnight but there were questions asked. The security gave us parking instruction and lead us to our room.
it was a very good experience
Lodge can accomodate a little more with menue as we dont eat pork and beef and no other food was catered for for us at breakfast
I have to start by giving credit to the amazing staff at Valley View Lodge. They were absolutely amazing - friendly, helpful & accommodating. The security guard even took the liberty of washing our car, unbeknown to us, with no expectation of being paid!
The location of the lodge is not the best. There isn't anything to do or decent places to eat in the area. The hotel itself though is very clean and well kept. Breakfast was simple, but well prepared. It's great for an overnigt stay, but I doubt I'd stay there on holiday. If I have a 1 or 2 night stay again in Manzini, I'll be very happy to stay there.
For R600 a nigt for 2 people including breakfast, you definitely get more than you pay for.
It was a short stay, but it was okay and breakfast was well prepared.

Disliked: Room comfort
Small, out of the way .....
This Hotel is difficult to find and made more so when street name spelt differently in GPS. Parking behind each other is inconvenient but you could be lucky and get the one garage park. Top of garage under some kind of construction and looks unstable. Room clean but small. Had to ask for enough towels and breakfast was cold and one person got wrong order. Outside area needs maintenance. Cold showers one night before we were told to flick taps quickly back and forward to get hot water back??!
We didn't think we'd get much for the budget price but we were pleasantly surprised. We were given a free upgrade to a place with two bedrooms and a full kitchenette. There were wide screen TV's with good reception in each room. Our room and the lodge's facilities were very clean. You get your choice of a well made full homemade breakfast each morning along with fresh fruit, multiple juices, cereals, yogurt and coffee. Nonhlanhla Gumbi, the excellent cook, is kind and friendly and will cook you lunch or dinner if you stay around. The dining area and lounge is clean and well appointed. The lodge manager, Anita, is friendly and ready to serve you. This is a quiet, small place, so you have to visit the surrounding area for things to do and see.
This was obviously a much more expensive lodge at one time but due to neighborhood change it was probably sold to a new investor who is trying to make a go of it. However it's not a run down neighborhood and security is not an issue as the lodge is behind a secure wall with 24 hr security guards. They are friendly too.
My stay was absolutely wonderful. The service we got was great and would recommend the place to any South African visiting Swaziland. The room we were placed in however I would recommend a hearvier curtain for the door so that there is enough privacy. Otherwise all was excellent.
We booked a Double Deluxe room in this hotel through Hotels.com. The owner of the hotel is not even aware of the booking until we gave the printed copies of the booking. They provided us with a Double room. The owner asked the ladies who works in their kitchen to do our checkout.
Booked this hotel through Hotels.com. The owner of the hotel is not even aware of the booking until we gave the printed copies of the booking. The ladies who prepare breakfast did my checkout. Very unprofessional.
