Peak event (Aust Grand Prix) equals inflated rates, naturally. Was it worth the exhorbitant rate we paid, quite simply, no. Pros: Hotel location is very good, short walk to tram for Albert Park, and short walk to the local Coles. Pool was adequate, the ambient music was loud, so made for a not so relaxing environment. Easy fix for hotel management. Cons:The hotel has an "odour" issue. The lobby had an unpleasant smell, noticed it immediatley at checkin and it was there our entire stay. Another guest commented the same. But it was intermittent foul sewer (?) smell in our room that greatly diminished the quality of our stay. The hotel was was fully booked, staff were unable to move us. They did immedialey send up a can of Glen20 to help neutralise the room. The following day they also sent a cleaner to deep clean the shower drain catchment. Though I believe, the odour is most likely a deeper plumbing issue. It was extremely unhealthy and uncomfortable. Thankfully we booked a room with a sliding door and balcony to allow fresh air to flow in. All of the above was mentioned to hotel reception, no discount was offered to remediate our dissapointing stay.
