Firstly the staff member behind reception said he could not find our booking, so asked us to email him the booking whilst he attended to his more important matter of texting.
After a few minutes, once prompted, he managed to put his phone down for a couple of minutes and check the email account... He then informed us that the double room we booked was no longer avilable, without any form of apology.
At 10pm after a full day on the bus, we just wanted to sleep
, so compromised to have a twin room the first night and switch the next day.
The 'twin' was a tiny bunk bed not fit for a child and the bathroom didn't look like it had been cleaned in years, mildew and mould everywhere.
Breakfast was basic, small stale rolls and peach jam.
The second night the double room was no better, we were on the ground floor and the window didn't close. The pictures must be from years ago when it was first built as they are completely inaccurate. The proudly advertise winning an award in 2012, its obvious why they haven't won anything in the past 3 years. As a backpacker I'm used to staying at hostels, but would not recommend this place to my worst enemy.
