Loved the arquitecture, history, staff were courteous, snacks & drinks.
Just a few things that were overlooked by the cleaning staff: conditioner and shampoo were not refilled; we were four guests and always missing a towel or water. We had breakfast at the Terraza restaurant and didn’t give us a discount.😟
Hotel and restaurant is very nice and I love it! Very historical, amazing architecture and interior! Staff was very friendly with us. View from the Terrace was incredible! Highly recommended.
Uriel is amazing! Aside from the building itself, I think he really set the tone for us. Our room was always very well kept. The welcome plate in the room & glasses of champagne were top tier. You can tell they take a lot of pride in the building and their reputation. Excellent service and beautiful property. Not to mention the location. You can walk to so many different major tourist spots. If you are into the history, this hotel is located within blocks from where many ancient artifacts have been found and you can just feel the history there.
The breakfast buffet is a must it has a great variety with a good price! The dinner menu needs to be revised not too many options and not very filling. The restaurant delivers with an amazing view of El Zocalo. The lobby is spectacular from the champagne greeting to the stain glass ceiling views. Stayed here for New Years and their event package is well worth it. I had an amazing time.
It was a charming old hotel. The view from the breakfast area was spectacular! Due to NYE celebrations some roads were closed which made access to getting directly to the hotel a bit of a challenge. We had to be dropped of two blocks away with our luggage.
We were assigned room 322 upon our arrival, but while we were going up to our room, the hotel manager changed his mind and told the bellhop to take us to room 411. When we asked, "Why did you change the room?" the bellhop answered that they found a quieter room for us. Later we realized that this answer was a mockery. We all immediately noticed the loud humming noise in room 411, but the bellhop assured us that the room would be quiet at night. It was lie! The hotel's ventilation and air conditioning system is located in close proximity to room 411. We could not sleep at night because of the loud hum and vibration from this system. We all developed a severe headaches. We went downstairs, and only after complaining were we given room 222, where it was relatively quiet. The hotel manager and bellhop knew about the noise in room 411, but they sent us there anyway and lied that it was a quiet room for us. They did not apologize to us and generally behaved brazenly. We felt that they could do anything with impunity.
Beautiful hotel and a great service! It is in the heart of the city with an amazing view. The hotel serves great and various food. I highly recommend it.
