My wife, my dog, and I arrived early after an early flight. Check out is at 11am so I didn't expect there would be anything available until after that, however, one would think some rooms would become available throughout the day as people checked out. Certainly some people even check out early and no one was in the lobby waiting for a room and the staff begins cleaning as soon as guests leave so it's logical to think a few rooms would be available shortly after 11am.
The front desk attendant (Frederic) made zero effort to find us a room or to display any empathy for our situation - the three of us sitting in the parking lot waiting. When I returned (for the third time) at 4pm Frederic was checking in someone else. When he saw me, immediately he had a room for us. Frederic did not look at me when he talked, he talked so quietly it was very difficult to hear him, and he displayed no customer service such as taking my phone number to call me as soon as something was available.
Once we got to the room, there was a group of people outside in the parking lot having a party - drinking, dancing and playing music loudly. I love parties, but not outside my hotel room. I've never stayed in a hotel and discovered a private party in the parking lot. Eventually I went to the front desk (Frederic was off shift by then) and the woman there said she would take care of it, which she did.
