We wont be back

Shower head screams, tub pops all over when your in shower because it wasnt insulated under it. Door slams all night, could hear people above us all night, lets just say we had a rough night and couldnt rest much.

Breakfast was great. Pool and whirlpool looked awesome but we didn't use it. Coffee very good. From 11-1am we heard nothing but pounding and noises from above. After an hour I went to the third floor to check who was making the racket. room 313 had there door propped open. yes they were loud but they were not making the thumping and pounding noises. This went on for two hours. Why didn't we call the front desk, it probably would have made it worse. Wife says lets just drive home, but we had a few brews so we ruled that out. we turned up the TV and waited it out. WARNING: be aware of room 213 where we stayed you won't like the noise. yes it is near the elevators but I checked on that too.

Everything was good. We especially loved the cleanliness of the whole place. The lady at the front desk was amazing and she greeted everyone and made sure the place looked great and welcoming.

First of all, no one was manning the front desk when I arrived. I was met with a "be back soon" sign. When someone finally showed up, after 10 minutes or so, they had no record of my reservation and it wasn't resolved until I and the desk person called Expedia to get it all figured out, which took another 20-30 minutes. The property itself was OK, but the room needing updating/refreshing. There was just a 32inch TV in the corner of the room, the bathroom had some peeling wallpaper and a huge rust stain on the wall behind the toilet. My room, at least, was screaming for an update. It didn't live up to my expectations of a Hampton property.

Beware Room 214!!

This is a beautiful hotel. The morning staff were helpful and responsive. Our room was directly above the front door and we heard the noise every time the door opened. The faucet in the shower was broken. (They are apparently waiting on parts). When we arrived, we asked the evening staff if she would use their commercial freezer to freeze the packs that help to transport my elderly parent’s medicine. She refused because she said the room had a freezer compartment. It didn’t keep the ice frozen. Ah, well. Customer Service was great the next morning. Definitely stay, but don’t let them put you in room 214!

Good choice near Shipshewana

Took an overnight trip to Shipshewana to attend a concert the next day. Nice distance from town, nice accommodations, decent breakfast.

Overall good stay.

I was good with most issues. But the key did not let me in the end door as I was informed so I had to walk back to the front to get in. And the television was all snow until I selected a different “source” from the side buttons. I don’t believe a lot of people would know to do that. Not sure why it is required. And why are the lampshades upside down? Looked kind of strange.

A lot of small issues!

I am a member of Choice Rewards. There was not a Choice hotel nearby to the area so I opted to try a Hampton hotel. The check-in went well and the room was quite clean. When I adjusted the temperature, the cover fell off of the heater. The toilet was cycling on and off. It would fill the tank and shut off every 30 seconds or so. I took the tank cover off and bent the float rod to lower the water level. The TV would not come on. I called the front desk and the person said “oh yeah, you have to go to the back of the set and try to find the correct input.” After a few minutes, I found the problem and was able to use the set however every time we shut the set off, we would have to repeat the process. The mattress top sheet was too small and several times throughout the night, I had to stretch it back onto the mattress. All these things are a minor setback to me but the incorporation of all of these things together make for a somewhat subpar experience. I truly expected a better experience from Hampton based on past history.
