I paid £385 for two night stay in a twin room on the second floor. Sadly it was the worst 2 nights sleep I have ever experienced. The sprung mattress was of poor quality and I could feel every spring in the mattress. I experienced back ache and every turn I made during the night was excruciating. The mattress sat on a plywood base and although the hotel offered a mattress topper this made no difference whatsoever.
The hotel is apparently undergoing a refurbishment but this was not on the website when I booked.
Sadly I would not stay here again, the discomfort should be reflected in the price as my stay was not worth £385 and my back continues to ache due to the poor quality of the mattress.
Breakfast was £10 per person, which was value for money as there was a variety of hot food, cereal, pastries and drinks.

I didnt like that breakfast is not included..i was slso told there was no 24 hour room service and there was.
Hotel is currently being refurbished, my friends and I was given one of the new rooms, ample of room in the junior suite, spent 3 nights here due to a festival, friendly staff, good buffet breakfast, wouldn’t hesitate to visit again
Uncomfortable bed noisy every time you moved, no sockets next to the bed only old style plugs for lamps, step into bathroom that stubbed toe on numerous times & the shower curtain smelt so bad.
Woken up by staff chucking bottles in bin outside then work being done on hotel so noisy drills and electric saws going from 8am.
Very dated room and was unbearably hot. Rang hotel weeks prior they said we would be able to do early check in on arrival to then not be able to have our room early.
First class and comfortable accommodation.
Although the breakfast was buffet style, hot items were kept hot and continental items were fresh.
Parking was ample and off road.
I will certainly be going there again.
We were only there overnight for a family visit nearby, but the refurbished room was excellent and comfortable.
My only complaint was the breakfast which looked and tasted lovely but was barely warm.
Hotel didn't seem to have details of the booking made via Hotels.com, on 3 separate occasions I was advised that breakfast was not included. I showed the hotel.com booking confirmation each time, however one member of staff said that we should have paid for breakfast but wouldn't charge us this time, and another had the bare face cheek to say that they would "let us off on this occasion". The attitude of the staff was condescending and there was no acknowledgement whatsoever of the error on their part

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
The property is having a much needed renovation. The beds are very hard, the chef didn’t turn up for the breakfast on the first day. The food in the restaurant was poor and expensive.
The staff were extremely helpful and very knowledgeable.
The breakfast was self service but a very good variety of continental and cooked.
Some areas could do with an uplift but overall a comfortable and well maintained hotel.
