The Highland House

This stunning Highland home is a beautiful combination of stone, glass and timber.

We are one of the few Southern Highlands homes with a pool.

The Highlands House uses design features and classic styling with the large group in mind.

We have an oversized entertaining room, 3 slow combustion wood heaters and reverse-cycle air conditioning.

The decks give rural views over glorious gardens, dam, swimming pool, spa and sauna.

The Highlands House is located only a short distance from the Colo Vale exit on The Hume Motorway 90 minutes south of Sydney. We are 10 minutes to Mittagong, 15 minutes to Bowral and 20 minutes to Berrima.

Gorgeous polished floorboards in the living area give the country feel.

Our roaring wood fire will keep you warm while the chefs in the kitchen get into action.
We have a coffee machine, butler’s pantry, double dish drawer, high-end appliances and 5-burner gas stove top with chef’s oven.

The bathrooms are equally luxurious with two bathrooms having under floor heating.

The master suite has a king bed plus large single day bed overlooking the garden, a lovely sitting area around a slow combustion woodheater and en suite .

Bedroom 5 also doubles as a media room with gas fire heater, lounge suite and a large flatscreen tv.

The garden is nothing short of glorious. There are various “rooms” created with hedging, arbours, and various plantings of lemons, limes, apples, pears, grapes, roses and beautiful seasonal blossoms. Be sure to walk around to the front of the house and look back at the stunning stone wall and glass feature windows. There are beautiful nooks in which to sit and read, enjoy shade in summer and warm sunlight in cooler months.

There is an undercover bbq area and also a fully fenced swimming pool – perfect for summer entertainment (please be aware that Highland House has an Enviroswim freshwater swimming pool which uses a unique treatment technology, giving the water a slightly different appearance to chlorinated pools). If you would like the pool to be heated during your stay, it can be turned on for an extra cost as it is gas heated. If you would like to use sauna, it can be turned on for an extra cost. The Hot Tub is free to use. Outside the garden enclosure is a paddock with dam and some very curious and hungry vegetarian geese – be sure to send the scraps their way!

Great country stay
A beautiful house with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Was very warm and cosy during wintertime and the nearby animals were an extra touch the kids loved. Would recommend staying here with a large family or group.

Stunning property
This property was stunning! It was so well stocked with everything you could have needed. Beds were really comfy. Heated flooring in the bathrooms was great. Fantastic communal areas for people to hang out. You have to pay extra to use the sauna and turn the heating on in the pool, but not for the spa. There isn’t a tv in the main living area. We loved loved loved this house, we’ll be back for sure!

Perfect property for a weekend away
We recently stayed at this wonderful property and had an amazing time. The home was exceptionally clean, cozy, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Traveling with younger kids can be challenging, but this property made it a breeze. There was plenty of space for the children to play, and they especially loved the cubby house in the backyard, which provided hours of entertainment. The open layout and ample room made it easy for everyone to relax and enjoy their time together. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals in the morning and afternoon and Glad was great with the kids. The hosts were attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We highly recommend this property for families looking for a stress-free getaway.

Fabulous property for a group of 8 women to celebrate 60 years of friendship
Absolutely amazing! Fully equipped home and very thoughtful hosts made our 3 night stay to celebrate 8 women all turning 60 an amazing experience. The home is beautifully decorated with super comfortable beds and multiple inside and outside zones to relax and/or party with friends. The hot tub was a bonus and would love to come back in the summer months to enjoy the beautiful pool.

The ultimate Dream Wedding Accomodation
From the moment we walked in this place is just immaculate. Glad had the fires going and the place was warm and cosy. You could not want anything extra at The Highland House. It exceeded all of our expectations and more.I could not fault a single thing. My Daughter had her wedding at Growwild which is only 7mins drive . This was the perfect place for stunning photos wonderful places for hair and makeup and plenty of room for 16 people. Space and luxury We will definitely be back

We stayed at the Highland House with 4 families, including 7 young kids. The house was stunning, it has everything you need and more. The hosts are really friendly and even took the kids to feed the animals each day. The pool and hot tub are a great addition. We’ll definitely be back.

Amazing property
We had an amazing time spent at this property. We booked it as a family to celebrate mine and my partner’s wedding. Glad was spectacular and offered my nieces to help feed the animals with her everyday. They loved it and we all loved our time here. Very special memories made and plenty of space for a bridal party to get ready. Lots of amenities and kitchen supplies so you dont need to bring a thing.

Absolutely amazing
We all absolutely love this place , was clean and had so many amenities available for us. The owner was so lovely. The place was private and even though the weather wasn’t the best the heated pool, sauna and hot tub were amazing to use. The only thing I would suggest is a tv in the main living space as there is only one in one of the bedroom living areas. Even so we will def return. Thanks

Please book this house! The property is on the nicest grounds we’ve ever seen and it has everything you need. The owners are very considerate and the details for comfort is all accounted for. There is even a fridge outdoor if you want to sit outside (undercover patio) You won’t regret it :)

Fabulous Accommodation In Every Aspect!
This was our second stay at this beautiful property and the perfect place to celebrate a BIG birthday with my children and grandchildren. The extra bathrooms and renovations were lovely and the heated pool, spa and sauna were enjoyed by all. Glad was wonderful to my young grandchildren, letting them help her feed the chickens, ducks, geese and Alpacas and we watched the sheep being shorn - very special. The cute little cubby house is a lovely addition and the well maintained lawns were perfect for games of cricket and soccer with the whole family. The extra touches provided - bowl of fresh eggs and chocolates (devoured by everyone) and milk, including Oat and Almond was much appreciated. The amenities in the bathrooms were beyond expectations and the linen and all bedding was delightful! The outdoor barbecue area was well used during our stay. This is one very special property and Glad is a treasure. We will return.

Perfect pre-wedding family stay
We stayed at Highland House for my daughters wedding weekend. It was perfect with plenty of accommodation for our extended family, including the bride and bridesmaids to stay prior to the wedding and for all the getting ready activity on the morning of the wedding. Huge rooms, fabulous living and dining areas, gorgeous surroundings and natural light. Perfect for hair, makeup, photos etc. Extremely well-equipped kitchen and lovely touches like milk, chocolates and farm eggs provided. We loved seeing the alpacas, sheep, geez email and chooks. And the heated pool, hot tub and sauna was put to good use relaxing after the wedding too! We couldn’t have asked for anything better. Glad was happy to respond to any query during our stay and before. Thank you so much. I highly recommend this beautiful place.

This place was beautiful! We took 12 girls here for a girls weekend away. The house is stunning, with ample space and fully equipped with anything we could’ve wanted or needed. The hot tub was a hit in the first day of spring!

Magic!
Get all your favourite people together and get yourself ready for an experience that brings you all together. This home has been set out with amazing spaces centred around togetherness. They really have thought it through and really understood what it is people are looking for. From the grand rooms, to the shared spaces, to the farm stay, to the well designed outdoor spaces. We had the most wonderful family weekend away at this beautiful property to celebrate my mum’s 80th. The house is AMAZING. First time I’ve stayed somewhere that not only matched the photos but was even better in real life! Everything you can think of is provided, pantry and fridge are stocked with lots of useful items. So many utensils, appliances, foil/glad wrap etc – loads of spare towels, linen, toilet paper. Gum boots in all sizes and plenty of firewood for the fire places. The heated bathroom floors were definitely appreciated by us all and so many thoughtful and beautiful touches really make this place so special - fresh flowers throughout the house, bowl of chocolates and fresh eggs left in the kitchen. Not to mention the beautiful cubby house complete with play toys, swing set and the hot tub and sauna. We didn’t test out the pool, so will have to come back in summer to tick that off the list! A big highlight for the kids and (grown ups too) was collecting the eggs every morning, feeding the alpacas and getting to know the geese. Was so good! Would recommend it to anyone and would love to go back. Best house I’ve ever stayed at hands down. Glad is a fabulous, friendly and accommodating host and we enjoyed our chats when she would come to do her thing with the animals. Highland House is the perfect getaway, we had such a lovely time and have created many memories to cherish. Thank you Glad and look forward to seeing you again!
