Gîte de la Truffière, heated swimming pool and jacuzzi

Gîte classified 4 stars in 2019 by the Ministry of Tourism. Heated saltwater swimming pool in operation from 01 June to 30 September 2024. Heated Jacuzzi in use from 01 April to 31 October 2024. The entire house and all its facilities are for your sole use during your stay. Beds are made on arrival, towels provided (one large and one medium towel per person). Welcome to Périgord Pourpre, in the heart of the castles of Monbazillac and Bridoire, the bastides, the vineyards and the gastronomy of Périgord. The gîte de la Truffière is an authentic, old and charming Périgord house. The strong points of the gîte de la Truffière are its absolute peace and quiet, with no traffic (the road stops at the gîte); a large shady terrace, its pool and open-air jacuzzi with views over the Périgord countryside; a signposted hiking trail starts directly from the gîte and takes you as far as the medieval village of Issigeac. An ideal holiday home to recharge your batteries. It has 4 bedrooms, 2 of which have 160cm beds. A sofa bed is available on the mezzanine floor, as well as a baby chair and an umbrella bed. 2 bathrooms, one of which is equipped with a whirlpool bath and Italian shower, and 2 WCs.
A spacious dining room with direct access to the terrace. There is a cosy sitting room and you will also appreciate the small relaxation area next to the sitting room with a view over the countryside. The kitchen is fully equipped (induction hob, oven, dishwasher, coffee maker, microwave, etc.). Upstairs, there is a bedroom with 2 single beds (90cm) and a bedroom with a double bed (140cm). There are also reading and games rooms, bicycles and a table tennis table. The terrace gives you direct access to the swimming pool and jacuzzi. The nearest village is Bouniagues, 2km from the gîte, where you'll find a variety of shops (grocery, bakery, restaurant, beautician, etc.) In the neighbouring village of Issigeac, you'll enjoy good restaurants and a popular Sunday morning market selling regional produce and excellent local wines (Monbazillac, Vignobles du Bergeracois, etc.). We will be entirely at your disposal and wish you a pleasant stay.

September stay Le Truffiere
Excellent gite with good swimming pool and hot tub. Perfect for us a family with adult children. We were unlucky with the weather so unable to use pool and hot tub as much as we would have liked. Danger of taking a September holiday! We had hoped to be able to walk to a restaurant, but none near enough. Issegeac really lovely and would recommend L’Atelier restaurant. Pascal our host very helpful and explained everything on arrival.

Pascal was a very welcoming host. The property is lovely and in a great location. Plenty of places to eat out in Issigeac and Bergerac and a lovely area to explore by bike. Great communication and would thoroughly recommend!

An exceptional villa
This is an excellent property, exceptionally clean, a lovely setting and great bathrooms & beds. We have stayed in 14 villas over the years and this is the best. Pascal and his family were excellent hosts, available to help at anytime if required. Pascal answered any questions exceptionally quickly. The area is nice, great for cycling & lots of superb restaurants.

Relaxing stay in the country
Our family had a lovely time at De La Truffiere. It is in a quiet location in the countryside but fairly close to Bergerac for shopping and other conveniences. The house is well equipped and has plenty of space to allow family members to do their own thing. It was too early to use the pool but we enjoyed playing ping pong, going on walks in the country and dining on the patio. We would definitely stay there again.

Beautiful location and lots of space. Comfortable downstairs bedrooms. Upstairs bedrooms really only suitable for children or short adults due to roof beams. Just one issue. The description of property online needs correcting as there were two bathrooms (one ensuite) and two toilets (one onsuite) as opposed to four "bathrooms" including three toilets in details online.

A superb family break
We have had a superb holiday at this property. The pool was superb (it’s salt water and what a difference that made! Very gentle on the skin and for the kids who lived in it) We went on holiday for two weeks with three children (13,12 and 9). The lounge area was very cool and the Wi-Fi effective for the kids. There is a super bbq and outdoor dinning area under a huge tree which provide respite from the sun and great shade. We felt the property was accurately and well stocked. Beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were very modern. We felt communication with the owners was good and easy. We genuinely felt if we had had an issue (we never did) it would have been resolved quickly. A great property in a truly stunning part of France.

Lovely house in great location
The property was fantastic and we had a great week. The outdoor space is great, with loads of space, a good pool and the hot tub was a hit, especially with the kids. Indoors was a large dining room (which thankfully we didn’t need as the weather was good) and more than enough living room space for all. The bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. The only slight negatives were the size of the kitchen (just about ok for the 5 in our party, but if you were filling the property it would be tricky to cater for 8 or 10) and that one of the bathrooms was en suite to the smaller downstairs bedroom, so for larger parties you would have the other three bedrooms sharing the other bathroom. These were only minor niggles and the bathrooms were good (nice showers, well equipped and clean). We would definitely return.

We had a wonderful week at La Truffiere and the house had everything we could possibly want. Chantal was a lovely host and answered all our emails very quickly and was very helpful and obliging with our extra requests. We would definitely recommend this house for a lovely holiday.

We had a wonderful holiday at La Truffiere which, for us, was perfect in every way. Idyllic surroundings and a location that was well positioned for visiting all of the attractions of this part of the Dordogne. Good communication with lovely hosts and an experience that we would be very happy to repeat.

We gingen voor de rust en uitstapjes in de omgeving. En dat was perfect. Bergerac en Issigeac zijn mooie stadjes. Monbazillac en Chateau Le Monderys zijn perfect voor het proeven van wijn. Aanrader !

Parfait, Pascal nous a parfaitement accueillis, maison spacieuse, jacuzzi au top, malheureusement la piscine n'était pas ouverte en cette saison mais doit être agréable. Le seule point négatif, le manque de couvert pour 3 repas par jour, nous étions 6. Sinon je recommande.

Amazing house
We had a wonderful time at Gite le Truffiere! The house has everything you need to have a relaxing holiday. We especially loved the saltwater pool and the jaccuzi and the quiet location of the house. Pascal is the nicest host and he made us feel so welcome. We highly recommend the staying here.

Very nice location and very nice house. Warm wellcome and really good communication with owner both in advance and during our stay. The bedrooms at first floor is not suitable for people more than 1,85 cm tall😉 Overall a nice stay - to be recommended 😃

Tout était parfait à la Truffiere proche de Bergerac, château de Biron et de Bridoire 👍👍 visites et animation pour les enfants.
