Lovely comfortable room

Lovely room. Only problem was the door didn’t close all the way at the bottom so there was a significant draft. We used a blanket from the closet to cover it.

We stayed in a suit and had a fabulous time! We loved the fireplace and the beds were comfortable. The continental breakfast hit the spot before we went to the aquarium. We will definitely return to this hotel next time we come to Monterey.

Had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Its close to the Fisherman's wharf and there are tons of restaurants nearby. Our room (Junior suite) was spacious and clean. Breakfast was okay.

The hotel seems a bit run down. It just feels like it needs some TLC on the exterior. They mention two hot tubs on the map, however at least one is gone. We didn’t check out the other one to see if it was still there. The room was decent - the bathroom was a good size, the beds were pretty comfortable. We loved the fireplace. It was fairly clean, but again some extra attention would make this place a lot better. The hotel was pretty walkable to downtown Monterey and the wharf (Cannery Row is still walkable but just a but further for those who struggle with walking). Overall, we for what we paid for with this one.

Hotel in Decline

I've stayed here several times over the years and the place is in major disrepair. I had to be moved twice, once at 7:00 a.m. due to major construction three doors down and another time at midnight due to water pouring out of the ceiling over the toilet. The rooms are still decent and clean, but the exterior looks like it hasn't seen a leaf blower in months nor a power wash in years. It's so sad to see this place decay. I will never stay there again unless there is a major renovation.

The rooms are very cozy, love the fireplace but need longer matches. Inner patio was quiet. Hallways can be loud as they are tile . Very walkable to the wharf where you can get treats food and souvenirs. Parking can be tough on the weekend We will be back, as the stay was enjoyable and is a wonderful location

Beautiful junior suite with private patio for a great price. The building is gorgeous, Spanish style and uniquely different from the usual hotel feel. I didn’t like that parking was an extra $22 and that wasn’t clear until you were checking in ;and already parked). The only other issue was that the signage for the room numbers was a bit confusing. But neither of those small things would stop us from staying here again, it was a pleasure.

Disappointed

We have stayed here at least 3-4 times and always enjoyed it. This trip we took our son and was super excited. We payed for “Luxury “ room and I can guarantee you it was nowhere near luxury. We had a balcony that faced a wall and someone’s house with a dog barking the whole time. Shampoo and Conditioner was empty. Bathroom did not smell good the minute we walked in. The walls were dirty. We will not be staying here again even though this was one of our favorite hotel.
