had reserved a room for four weeks in advance (so you had plenty of time to inform me if there were any issues). Upon checking in, I was told by the staff that the room was located on the 4th floor and that the elevator had been out of service for some time due to a mechanical issue. I asked if they could move us, but was told there was no other room available. One of the travelers had undergone a full knee replacement on both knees, and we had a lot of luggage. I asked for help, and an employee showed up to help carry two pieces upstairs, then disappeared. The next morning, I called the office and asked to be moved because I didn’t want the person with knee replacements to have to walk up and down to the fourth floor. After a long conversation and being told the best they could do was refund the remaining nights, they finally agreed to move us to the other side of the building, where the elevator was working. I asked for help with moving the luggage, and they said they would send someone to assist me. After waiting forty minutes, no one showed up, so we carried everything over. Other than this, there were puddles of water in the hallways that could have easily caused slips and falls, the trash bins in common areas were overflowing, and there were only two sets of towels in a room reserved for four people. I stayed at Hotel Pacific several years ago and had a pleasant experience, which is why I came back. Unfortunately, this is not the same hotel as before.

At the time of booking, it was mentioned that the room included a fireplace. However, the room assigned to me had a fireplace that was only for display and not functional. I contacted the front desk regarding this, and a staff member informed me that the fireplace was not working. Clarifying this information at the time of booking would help avoid confusion for future guests.

Worst stay ever at this hotel. We came to spend Christmas Eve and morning with our grandchild. During check in 3 people were complaining about their room. That should have been my 1st clue. No even 1 single Christmas Decoration or light in the whole place... despicable.....we came to enjoy a peaceful holiday and get a good nightsleep. The 1st room was on the 4th floor looking out to a wall, the elevator didn't work and we had to carry our bags ourselves. We both have bad back and are in our 70's. We had to walk through puddles and flooded everywhere on the ground level and even on the upper hallways. We got completely soaked. We went back down to switch rooms and the young woman was nice enough but gave us another 4th floor room, but at least the elevator worked. I singed all the hair off of my arm trying to light the poorly deteriorated gas logs, when it flared up onto my arm. We also could not figure out how to use the romm heater/conditioner if it even worked. The room was clean but the bed was terribly soft and we both ended up in the crevice in the middle. Couldnt get the TV to wotk at all. We couldn't sleep and got up at 6am. and got the hell outta there, and over to our daughters house. Didnt stay for breakfast.....we just wanted out. This was truly the worst night have ever spent in supposed upscale hotel. And I still can't get over the fact that the amanagemnt went to no effort to decorate for Christmas. We will never be back there.

Unacceptable experience from start to finish. We arrived at check-in time and were made to wait over an hour past the stated check-in time. This was after driving 3 hours with a one year old baby that we needed to get into the room and change her diaper and get freshened up. When we were finally given access to our room after 5:00 PM, cleaning staff were still inside, which is completely unacceptable. I requested a toddler bed immediately after booking. It was not in the room. Housekeeping told us they would notify the front desk to have one delivered. That never happened. After returning from dinner (we missed our original reservation because we couldn’t get into our room) and still not having a toddler bed, we went to the front desk, where we were then told that they do not have toddler beds at all. Why wasn’t I told this? They had multiple chances to tell me, yet never did. This left us in an unsafe situation with a one year old child and no safe place for her to sleep. As a result, I had to sit up all night on the couch to ensure she did not fall out of the bed and injure herself. This experience was unacceptable and extremely stressful. I will never stay at this hotel again and will be leaving appropriately worded reviews on Yelp and Google if we’re not given a 100% refund. I honestly think this is the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. And I haven’t even mentioned the room was not clean. We did not use the shower because of the smell.

I only my husband tried the breakfast options. I don’t really have a review. Since it was stormy during our stay, thee was lots of water and puddles in the hallways and steps. Elevator didn’t seem to work its best and since childish g is old the doors and windows had gaps that brought in outside air. Love the style of the building though which is why I picked this hotel. Overall our stay was good

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A spotless hotel with real soul I first stayed at Hotel Pacific 30 years ago and returned this Christmas after also staying at another local hotel over Thanksgiving. I’m happy to say Hotel Pacific still has something increasingly rare: a genuine sense of place and soul. Our suite was beautifully laid out with a gas fireplace, roll-out sofa, nested coffee tables, four armchairs, and a small glass dining table. The living space was generous, with great lighting options, outlets everywhere, strong free Wi-Fi (no login), very comfortable beds 😴, and TV with HBO. The huge bathroom opens into the suite with locking shutters, a long vanity, soaking tub, and a separate glass-and-terracotta shower. The architecture is extraordinary: a terraced, secret-garden labyrinth built into the hillside, with fountains, quiet nooks, and private patios or balconies. Even in heavy rain, the property felt calm, cozy, and welcoming. In better weather, I can only imagine how magical the outdoor spaces, private hot tub, and fire pit are. In addition to the super-convenient in and out hotel garage, the terraced design makes second-floor rooms accessible by van via rear ramp access and elevators for those with mobility issues. Short walk to historic, lively Alvarado Street with restaurants and a pharmacy nearby. Staff were kind and welcoming. It helps to verify details on the website or call at the 4 pm check-in hour if something is important to you. We would absolutely stay here again!🔥⛲️🌿

The room was spacious and clean. Has a gas fireplace and a large TV. Bed is comfy but pillows need to be replaced. A small Bottled water is $2.50...not free. Free breakfast is so-so...no bacon,sausage and eggs. Noisy in the morning with other guests banging their doors and cleaners rolling their noisy carts on the uneven floors. Service was excellent, though.

Room was spotless and we love having the fireplace which makes it cozy. However it does not appear to be very busy (maybe because it’s Christmas) yet we were put in a room with the only windows in the room facing walls with no view and very little natural light. On previous visits we were given rooms with a street view and balcony. Perhaps we were given this dreary room because we brought our little dog?
