Great location in central Salinas. I walked around the room in my white socks and they were so blackened with dirt and grime I had to throw them away. Doewsn't anyone mop the floors?

The room for the most part looked clean Furniture is old. I couldn't get the remote control to work, i called front desk and the kid said maintenance is not available until tomorrow. Thank goodness i was just there for 1 night. The mattress was not comfortable, it had blood stains! That was nasty.

THE PROS: staff very friendly, breakfast had a good verity. Local restaurants close by. The bed was comfortable. The price was good. THE CONS: the room was very dinghy, the fireplace didn't work, roaches in the bathroom, curtains and wallpaper falling apart, very noisey all night (people coming and going all night), carpet riped and coming apart in places.

We took our daughter, son in law and 5 year old granddaughter, the floor was so nasty that the baby ran from the bathtub to my room and her little feet were completely black.

Outward appearance looks okay, it’s when you get inside when you start to notice the problems. The bathroom window had a bullet hole, the shower controls looked as if they were about to fall off. There was trash left from the last people and a burn hole in the blankets.

The stink in our rooms was awful. Marijuana reeking from the room next-door. Dirty rooms. High number of people entering and exiting the rooms loudly all night. We were all concerned for our safety. The only redeeming factor was the breakfast, which was really good.

Use to stay here whenever I’d come to Salinas so I figure I’d stay again since it’s close to family. Rooms were pretty average for it being an inn, appliances were old, either broken or hardly worked and restroom was okay. Remote for tv did not work and the phone did not have any info to call for towels nor the front desk. I had to go to the office for towels. This time, the bed was horrible with stains on sheets. My daughter slept on top of the sheets since she didn’t want to sleep under the sheets or blanket. Fridge under the bathroom counter was old she didn’t work. Nor did the old blow dryer that we were trying to use. And the ice machine was broken and had trash in the area to try to get ice. Over all, stay was poor.
