Terrible Bed
The room itself was very comfortable. However, the bed and pillows were so bad that we had to go to target and buy new pillows. There were also woodpeckers on the outside of our room on the balcony that started about 8 AM. We were already up at that point, but I can see that being a real problem for some people. Other than those two things, the hotel itself is very close to a lot of things, including a coffee shop that neighbors it as well as having an ocean view.

This place is old and everything inside is old, and gross. The box spring of the bed had some stains in them, the carpet is gross, the bed is so uncomfortable and while lying down, I can smell the musty smell of the carpet. I asked if I checked out a day early if I can get a refund and they said no.

Bathroom was too small. The step up into the shower was too high and I struggled to get in and out. Lack of a desk in the room was inconvenient. Otherwise, all was excellent.

Our room was very clean and we had a lovely balcony. The shower was a little difficult to figure out and the pressure was mediocre. I wish we would have known that that there was no working vending machine on the property. Otherwise, we enjoyed everything.

Rooms didn’t look like the pictures whatsoever. I knew it wouldn’t be the best considering the price, but man it was outdated. The beds were so hard too! The only good thing was a tiny free breakfast, and it was close enough to the aquarium.

Great place to stay
We have stayed at the Olympia Lodge before and really enjoyed it. The room is clean and the check in staff are friendly. There were only a few things that needed attention: the shower head has calcium build up so the water did not come out very strong; there were porcelain chips in the tub; the dressers had water marks and had a lot of wear on them; but, we will still go back there because it is a beautiful area, is quiet, and secure.

Very clean room and comfortable bed. Close to the Asilomar beach. I do not like stairs and a building is quite old. But it could be named a vintage style. It is nice place at all.

After leaving I discovered a shirt was missing from my belongings. My husband and I travel very light, I had only a small duffle bag. We both checked the room twice before checking out. I believe a staff member entered our room when we were out, and committed theft.
