Casa Cielo is truly the most awe-inspiring home in Monteverde. This two-story (plus loft) A-frame cabin makes guests feel as if they are living in the sky. Hawks can often be seen soaring over the valley from the large picture windows running the length of the first floor. The sunrises and sunsets from the hammock on the upstairs balcony are an unforgettable experience. We provide you with free organic coffee from our farm in Monteverde for the first morning of your stay for you to settle in and enjoy the spectacular beauty of the surrounding forest.

With gorgeous hardwood floors throughout the cabin and plenty of spaces to relax, Casa Cielo is the ideal spot for a vacation in paradise. With a double bed and loft bed upstairs, plus a cozy futon, Casa Cielo easily sleeps 5 people. Both the downstairs bathroom and upstairs whirlpool bathtub have hot water, and there is a washing machine and double clothesline. Of if you’d rather relax, you can enjoy traditional Costa Rican meals cooked by our neighbors from the local community and delivered to you.

You’ll love relaxing on the couch or in the armchair in the living room, curling up with a book on the upstairs loveseat, or enjoying a sunset coffee or glass of wine in the balcony hammock. The views in Casa Cielo are unmatched no matter where you are in the cabin. The dining table looks out onto our forest preserve property, and further beyond into the valley and out to the Gulf of Nicoya. All of our guests love the upstairs balcony, which has a custom designed wrought iron railing– feel free to set up the hammock for some serious relaxing or take it down to do sunrise yoga.

Enjoy playing a game or reading from our library collection of children and adult books, Costa Rican guidebooks, and books about local flora and fauna. Sit down at the desk to write a story in our guestbook or look up activities in Monteverde with free Wifi. Casa Cielo is a unique experience that typifies Costa Rica's laidback lifestyle and joy of the environment. We stayed 2 weeks and were awakened every morning by a pair of the local blue jays banging on the windows. We were visited by a troupe of Capuchin monkeys, a bold, red, tufted ear squirrel and a variety of birds. A gecko and baby iguana were in the bedroom- never caused problems, it was cool. Any organic food remains (apple cores, banana peels, watermelon rinds) were thrown out the window (as far as you can) for the wildlife. The view from balcony is magnificent, looking out over the forest and hills. One thing that took some getting used to was their septic system (same throughout the country, wherever we went) you DO NOT put ANYTHING- including toilet paper in the toilet. There is a small wastebasket provided for all TP, etc. If you want to get away from hotels and live more in line with the locals (yet still feel a bit special) THIS is the place to do it! Not only would I recommend it to others, I would cheerfully stay there again!

Beautiful Spot!
One of the most beautiful places I have ever stayed. The house is rustic and a little rough around the edges but that is all accounted for in the price and clear in the listing. The village of Santa Elena is close by and great for dining and shopping. Just string the hammock up on the porch and relax.

The chalet was brilliant. A great space for the whole family, with amazing views. The hosts communicated brilliantly and we had a great time. The view is honestly just amazing and waking up to it on the mornings we're beautiful. Great facilities too with a kitchen stocked with equipment and some coffee and bits provided. Thanks for a great stay!

There’s lots of great things about this place. If you want peace and quiet in nature this is the spot. Its a great cabin just far enough off the grid and it’s easy to get to town when needed.

Beautiful views alright place
The views are great , place is cool , not as clean as I’d like it, the shower wasn’t clean when I arrived . A lot of cookware wasn’t clean. Hot water wasn’t great, the shower was not the nicest and kind of dark and not much light. I tried to use the tub but couldn’t manage to get much lukewarm water to fill a few inches and gave up. The fridge didn’t really get cold. The view from the balcony is really beautiful. Some improvements could make it really nice. It’s nice for some people, but personally I’d like a little nicer place and feel it was overpriced. It just felt like it needed a really good cleaning. I feel bad being honest and I appreciate the stay but I’d prefer a newer place for my next stay or at least a cleaner one.

What an amazing view!
We had a wonderful stay in Monteverde! The view is truly magnificent. We enjoyed watching the clouds roll in each day, capuchin monkeys playing in the trees nearby, howler monkeys in the distance, and so many birds soaring by. We also got to enjoy a delicious home cooked meal from Giselle.

Terrific views and privacy
This cabin is quite unique. The open views of this surrounding hills from the porch are remarkable. Very good value considering it has hot water and propane for cooking. It is about a 10 minute drive into Santa Elena or Monteverde. The place is a bit dank and musty, but probably to be expected considering it is in the rainforest.

Cute cabin with incredible views of the stars and the mountains
Such a cute cabin with incredible views of the stars and the mountains! The balcony off the second floor is particularly wonderful, with a place for you to hang a hammock and great views and great opportunities to see birds. It feels like you are all by yourself in the mountains but is only about 8 minutes away from many restaurants and supermarkets. The hosts are incredibly kind and very communicative. We would absolutely recommend!

This is a lovely place to stay, away from the hustle and bustle of Monteverde. It is a relatively simple, but charming, A frame cabin. But honestly, stay here so Giselle can cook for you. Seriously, the BEST Costa Rican food I have ever had. Probably the best food I had on my trip.

A BILLION DOLLAR VIEW!!
I have traveled all over the world and I have never had a view like this ever! Not only are the Host super attentive they are very patient with a guest like me that ask a million questions! It is only 1.8km to Monteverde and extremely quiet. I have never seen sunsets like they have there...you won't believe your luck! The cabin is a high end glamping but has all the comforts you need. Beautifully birds come near the window and the extremely friendly little dogs come to greet you wagging their tails and are respectful and quiet. The house is close to everything and the owners provide a very well layed out map of exactly where everything is so tale a picture of it with your phone while you go on your adventures to find everything easily and be home before sunset if possible to watch the glorious breath taking view! BTW you can even see Golpho De Nicoya from there too if clear. We will be back!! PS...if you do use the the washing machine read the instructions first they are very straight forward but bring a few extra clothes pins to hang your wash outside. Your clothes will smell lovely!! Always remember to turn off the hot water when done and after showering to save energy and consider the environment. CLG

Beautiful view, excellent location for Monte Verde
We loved our three night stay at La Lindora. The view from this cabin is amazing morning, noon and night. The kitchen is adequately stocked and there are good restaurants nearby. Monte Verde is a short drive away. We loved just being at the place and looking out over the expanse of the valley, and watching birds come and go from the porch. We had dinner prepared and delivered from Giselle, as soon as we arrived ( ordered ahead of time) which was so heartwarming and delicious to start our trip. Highly recommend this and any outings provided by Stuart !! Thank you Stuart for being our friend and guide. Absolutely not to miss is a tortilla making and coffee tour with Stuart! Our guide in Monte Verde was so knowledgeable and we enjoyed the tour very much. Do pay attention to what is falling around you when looking high in the trees at howler monkeys! We would absolutely come here again when we have the chance. I recommend a head light or something for navigating from the parking spot down to the house. We loved our stay.
