Overall my teenage son and I enjoyed a good stay for his birthday trip to Montréal. The hotel’s location is excellent, very very short walk to major stores, Eaton Montréal, restaurants etc in downtown. Easy walk to McGill University, and a pretty quick Uber to Old Montréal, but we walked it as well with no issue.
The room was nice, very European which also means that it wasn’t spacious. Had a Keurig with coffee pods supplied daily, as well as tea, loved that. There was also a mini fridge.
The housekeepers were pleasant and did a great job of tidying the room daily, and even when we slept in late they returned later to tidy while we went out exploring.
There is a breakfast and lunch restaurant attached to the hotel, had breakfast there once and was not impressed and it was pricey. But there are lots of restaurant options nearby.
I was quite disappointed when, at check-in, I queried whether anything special could be done for my son to celebrate his birthday (something as simple as a balloon surprise would have been nice) and the front desk clerk (male, can’t recall his name) scoffed and said that he could tell him happy birthday, then said, but oh wait [he] won’t be at work that day. I’ve stayed at other properties where this was done with no issue.
All in all though, for its location and convenience, I would stay here again.
