Always a joy to come to this beautiful city of Montreal and Manoir Sherbrooke is always a place to stay. The FRIENDLINESS of the staff is beyond expectations and the location is convenient to plenty of must sees. The people of Montreal are kind and polite and the works should mirror this attitude, congrats to you MTL
The best thing about this place was its staff. Both at check in and check out, I met wonderful people who were very polite, pleasant and helpful. Breakfast was awesome - great choices, tasty with good quality, well presented. The hotel has a unique and vintage feel about it. A related problem is there's no lift. Toilet seat wasn't clean enough and bathroom and toilet were very small.
We had a great visit at the Sherbrooke. The staff was helpful and friendly. The staff kindly stored our large suitcases, so we would make our way to the third floor, with our carry-on cases. We knew the manor didn't have an elevator, so we packed accordingly. The manor is lovely and situated in a bustling area. We only had one night in Montreal. They recommended visiting the old city, and we greatly enjoyed it. The staff directed us to a nearby well-known smoked meat restaurant. My husband truly enjoyed his sandwich. Also, the breakfast was by far the best we have experienced at a hotel in a very long time. We hope to visit again in the near future and visit more of the city. Well done!
Stayed an additional night in a same room, had offered room service during the breakfast but did not provide the services. The twin beds are smaller than standard twin. Short waking distance to both Metro stations ( Sherbrooke & Saint Laurent).
We left this property and at 9:00 at night moved to Softel Hotel, also on Sherbrooke. This property had dust on the tops of furniture which made one wonder about the quality of the cleaning. The tub was badly stained and looked dirty(uninviting at the very least). The bathroom door had a crack in the veneer surface. The hallway carpets were frayed. The room was generally run down and implied poor upkeep/maintenance aka substandard. While young people might find this property acceptable we, in our 70’s with our experiences and means did not. It must be said that the office staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. The desk person gladly helped us carry our large, heavy suitcases up the narrow stairs to our room on the second floor. There is no elevator.
Great location for shopping, concerts and museums. Cosy, comfortable room in an historical property, plus delicious buffet breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff make this a Montreal gem!
Loved the Ambiance and the decor!
Found the Staff very friendly, extremely courteous, very helpful and extremely accommodating !
Very definitely my first choice of Hotel whenever I am in Montreal.
This was our first, but not last, visit. The service was excellent and we found we could walk easily to downtown or the Plateau.. We were impressed with breakfast, there was a great variety and it was plentiful.
All the staff I interacted with were very nice and helpful. The building is a little older so the stairs and hallways creak and can be heard from my room. I had a room facing Rue Sherbrooke and it could get a bit noisy at night - not a fault of the property, just a fact of being in the city. Some earplugs or noise cancelling headphones may be helpful. Old school physical key attached to giant metal keychain for their rooms has its charm, although not the most practical to carry around. I knew what to expect, so it didn’t bother me. Overall satisfied with my visit and would stay there again.
THE ROOM HAS NO AIR CONDITIONING,ALTHOUGH THEY MENTIONED IN THE INFO THAT THEY HAVE ONE, THEY SAID ITS A CENTRAL AIR CONDITIONING AND THEY WILL FIX IT BUT NOTHING BEING FIXED, IT'S JUST BLOW HOT AIR. I TRIED TO CANCEL MY BOOKING BUT THEY REFUSED, ALTHOUGH, GOOD LUCK TO OPEN THE WINDOW IT'S VERY NOISY OUTSIDE. TERRIBLE NIGHT
The front desk clerk was very nice. Beautiful old Historic building. But I had a room that had a toilet down the hall and the shower was down the hall. The t v did not work properly and the air conditioning did not work at all. Very nice breakfast buffet
