We had booked a suite, and that was very nice. It's generally quiet around the hotel, and we slept well. It was not so nice to be so close to the offices across rue St-Paul, makes you feel observed. The one downer was the breakfast "buffet". $35 was way too pricey for the quality and selection. Others seem to have felt the same way, there was only one other couple there with us. And in the elevator, another guest told us about a good breakfast place nearby. The students taking care of the service were very nice, though.

Hotel: lovely. Treatment of gold members: terrible
The hotel is amazing. Great design and very comfortable. And the staff are nice. Its just that the hotel has stopped honoring any of the VIP gold features that they advertise on hotels.com. When i checked in, i was told that i wasnt entitled to a room upgrade, nor was i going to receive the free welcome drinks. Both of these are entitlements of gold hotels.com members. I know that the upgrades are based on availability. I checked on the site when i was at the front desk and they had several higher category rooms available. Given that i paid over 600 dollars for my room, already a premium, i was not impressed So when you go to this hotel, dont expect that your loyalty and status matter to them

We loved that it was within walking distance of where we wanted to be. The rooms themselves were spacious and very nice but felt it could be a little cleaner, especially the sink where there was mould in the corner. We also really missed not having a coffee pot or a microwave especially considering the price we paid per night. The lobby was not as elegant as we expected and the elevator and hallways were very very dark and the floors had dark brown carpet that needs replacing. I think the best way to describe it is that it looked a little tired. We took the taxi to the airport rather than Uber because they had a set price but upon arrival we were charged seven dollars more. Having said all of this we found the staff lovely and we were happy to be right in the middle of old Montreal.

The hotel is in a good location and the service staff is polite and considerate. However, the charges are confusing and random. Our guests did not have breakfast in the hotel, but were charged for breakfast. It is very surprising that such a luxury hotel would have such a thing. At least the management here is too poor. I will not book this hotel again. I also do not recommend this hotel!

The rooms smell of stale cigarettes and stale old people, took some getting used to. The room was clean and modern’ish but lacked some basic hotel comforts, wine opener, ice/ice bucket. The tub however, was huge and just screamed hop in! Not quite the heart of old Montreal, it was the middle and easy access to both old Montreal shops and downtown shopping.

It's centrally located for our needs. But it definitely needs some TLC - bathroom tiles were dirty, carpet is worn out, some fixtures barely attached, shower curtain had blood stains - yuck. Obviously no attention to details and cleanliness :(
