But don't just stop there. Take an extra day or two to experience some of the awesome sights and activities that the wider Victoria region offers. Alternatively, have a crack at a few popular local pursuits like snowboarding, skiing and mountain climbing.

It's well known that Aussies just love to have a good time, so consider kicking back a little longer and going to the Village and Mount Hotham Alpine Resort in Hotham Heights, 55 kilometres to the north of Moroka. Hotham Heights accommodation options are the Tanderra Ski Lodge and Moritz Apartments Mt Hotham. 60 kilometres to the northwest of Moroka you'll also find Mount Buller, home to the Mt Buller Chalet Hotel & Suites and Amber Lodge Mt Buller - Hostel. Horse Hill and Wombat are up there with the most popular sites to explore while in Mount Buller.

Bairnsdale is located 70 kilometres from Moroka and has a population of 11,000. When you're there, you'd be nuts if you didn't visit St Mary's Catholic Church, the Bairnsdale Historical Museum and McLeod's Morass Wildlife Reserve. If you're in the area for a bit longer, keep the good times rolling with a visit to Bairnsdale Clocks and Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre. Parsons Flat River Barn - Tranquility Awaits
Lovely place in Dargo
5 / 5
The newly constructed River Barn is a great spot with everything you need for a relaxing getaway. You can wander down along the river which is part of the property, our little dog had a great time exploring. The listing on Stayz was unfortunately misleading, stating a travel time of 53min to Mt Hotham whereas the road is actually closed in winter so it's 3+ hours which scuttled our snowboarding plans. The driveway is a bit dicey - if you have a car with low clearance you might struggle. Otherwise we had a great time and the host Trish was very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Thanks for having us!
