The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Mine was a last minute reservation and I needed two accessible rooms. Julie in reception (and others during our stay) could not have been more helpful. Our rooms suited our needs perfectly - spotlessly clean, comfortable and very well maintained. This hotel has my highest recommendation.

No change since last visited few years ago. Still need update bedrooms with new TV smart set with subtitles needed Need new carpets all through hotel. It's outdated carpets!!! Buffet breakfast not good idea as wrong place. Feel. Uncomfortable at times

They offered us wrong room as disabled due included TV smart set with subtitles for our needs. They gave us room 72 first place on second floor but it wasn't suitable for our needs link fire risk due we both are deaf also TV set is old out of date no subtitles included. That's why they offered us disabled room but we didn't requested for it because bath and sink are too low to use. Very frustrating... They couldn't offered us best room it was fully booked with wedding event. The cleaners has been entered to our room twice without our permission. Did put up door hanger said no enter room. They have no respect for us. We now never go back there again

We booked this hotel last minute as we needed a relaxing break. The room was large and comfortable. Whilst the main hotel is being updated, the recently decorated bar and restaurant areas provided lots of space and there was a good choice of drinks and food. Every single member of staff was friendly, very helpful and made us feel very welcome. A good location, we were able to walk into Shifnal for restaurants, pubs and shops. We also enjoyed some nice long walks from the front door into the surrounding areas. Definitely happy with our stay and it was a very good price.

Worthy of being a 1* hotel
The first room had a blocked sink. No one was answering the phone, eventually I managed to contact reception who sent someone to check. 90 minutes later I got into a second room with a working sink, but in the morning I had to shower in ankle deep standing water in the bathtub. The mattress on the bed is the cheapest quality you can buy. Far too soft with no support. It sinks to the base of the bed

Staff at the reception were nice, however the rooms were horrible! We stayed at the hotel two years ago and had a nice time, we were visiting Shifnal again and heard that the hotel changed hands and had little revamp. As we found out, not the rooms! We asked to change our rooms because it was just above a massive generator that caused a lot of noise. Eventually, we were moved to a tiny room at the top floor, which had only one little window that would not stay open! We would not get much air in and on a hot night, it was very uncomfortable. In the morning, we discovered the state of the room too: dirty mattress topper, stained curtains, paint peeling off the wall right next to the bed (revealing some black mould), crack in the wall, old bar furniture, mould in the bathroom, PAT test on electronic devices expired by two years and so on! We contacted the hotel via hotels.com on during our stay and directly after and haven’t heard from them at all! Very disappointing and will not be staying there again.
