Motoyama is a place that has loads of cool stories to tell. If you think your life's been a bit dull lately, a trip here is the perfect answer!

It's located 100 kilometres away from Okayama and its busy streets.

How about some time chilling out by the ocean? Katsurahama Beach is situated 35 kilometres from Motoyama. Sitting 95 kilometres away, Kashima Beach is another impressive option.

Yearning for a little time out with Mother Nature? Dig out your car keys and head in the direction of Mt. Nakatsu, 30 kilometres from Motoyama. Alternatively, fill your lungs with fresh air at Hyoutan Pond, 45 kilometres away.

The best snow is always in the morning, so set your alarm clock early the night before you head to Ishizuchi Ski Area.

If you're considering travelling further afield, journey 8 kilometres southwest to Tosa-cho. It's here you'll find Sameura Dam and Kizenzan Park. We also recommend stopping by Nagaoka-gun, 9 kilometres to the east, for Ryuo Fall and Sikoku Yoshinogawa Rafting Oboke Short Course.

About 20 kilometres to the south, Nankoku is a place that has lots to offer. Tosa Shrine, Nishijima Gardening Park and the Zenrakuji Temple are all pretty close. Keep in mind, the Kokubunji Temple and Gookayama Cultural Forest may be more your style.

To really experience a place is to try its food and drink, so get set to gnaw, nibble, sip and swig your way through Kochi. The only thing you need to bring with you is a good appetite!

Once you pull up a seat and browse a restaurant menu, you'll quickly realise that beef and noodles are some ingredients commonly found in dishes here.
