The nation's capital city, Madrid, lies about 120 kilometres to the east of Munico.

Munico is within easy reach of some picturesque natural attractions. Isla de Pedro de Ávila is 50 kilometres away and is well worth looking around.

Once you've grabbed a trail map and pass at Puerto de Navacerrada Ski Resort, you won't want to waste a minute getting to the top of the slope! You may also like to hop aboard the chairlift and conquer the trails at Valdesqui Ski Resort.

If you'd like to do a little exploring, add a day trip to Casasola to your itinerary. This place is 19 kilometres to the east and is home to Convento de Santa Teresa and Los Cuatro Postes. Need some more ideas? Munopepe is 20 kilometres to the southeast of Munico and is known for Church of San Nicolas and Tower of Los Guzmanes.

Feel like going to Avila Cathedral, Monasterio de la Encarnacion and Convento de San Jose? Get moving to Avila, 30 kilometres to the east, and set up camp. These sights, as well as Basilica de San Vicente and Royal Monastery of Saint Thomas, are all close.
