Didi's Cottage Mystery Bay - a nod to the classic Australian coastal holiday

Didi's Cottage is a fully furnished cosy quaint coastal cottage situated one street back from the beach in Mystery Bay. It is surrounded by fabulous beaches, National Park and the beauty and sounds of nature.

There are 3 bedrooms - 2 with Queen beds and the third with 2 Singles - sleeping up to six people in total. The cottage boasts 3 decks, all with ocean and forest views.

Linen - guests will need to bring your own linen - Sheets, pillowcases, and towels. Tea towels are provided.
Linen hire may be available by prior arrangement only.

The Cottage

The main bedroom is extra large with a queen bed, seats and a coffee table. The second bedroom has a queen bed and is furnished in a retro style with the third bedroom having two single beds and a toy box.

The open plan living spaces comprise:
a cosy lounge area with TV, DVD player and DVD's for your enjoyment. It opens onto the front verandah via French doors;
a dining area with a stereo and bookshelf to keep you entertained. it opens onto the central deck via French doors; and
a split level galley kitchen with gas stove, a dishwasher, microwave, toaster, and jug.

The fully-tiled bathroom has a toilet, vanity, rustic claw-foot bath with shower, and a heated towel rack. There is a spare shower in the garage for those post swim rinses and a rustic outdoor dunny for emergency use.

The garage has:
a small laundry with a washing machine and dryer;
a shower for a quick rinse off; and
a table-tennis table.

The front deck is partly under cover so you may unwind in the shade or choose to take in the ocean views. The central deck has an outdoor table and chairs and an outside power point for the electric barbecue which is stored in the laundry. From the central deck, stairs lead up to the very large and panoramic top deck where you may choose to relax and make the most of the picturesque and sunny aspect.

SORRY, NO PETS as we are too close to the National Park and we have no secure boundary fencing. This allows native animals to access the yard such as kangaroos and bandicoots.


Mystery Bay

Mystery Bay is situated 8 km south of Narooma and about 8 km north of 'River Cottage' in Central Tilba.

Mystery Bay offers some great sheltered swimming spots as well as surfing beaches. Visitors can enjoy walks and adventures along the pristine coastline, cliff faces, and forests in the adjoining Eurobodalla National Park, or further afield.

Narooma - There is a pool, boardwalk, cycleways, marina, shops, services, restaurants and clubs. There are boats for hire on Wagonga Inlet with great fishing, and tours to Montague Island where you can choose to swim with the seals.
Tilba area - well known for its fresh produce, markets, cheese and wine.


Make yourself comfortable in this cottage, featuring a kitchen with a refrigerator and an oven. There's a private balcony. A Smart television along with a DVD player are provided for your entertainment. Conveniences include a microwave and an electric kettle.
Take in the views from a garden and make use of amenities such as barbecue grills.

Short walk to the beach. 5 - 10 minute drive to Narooma. 10 minutes from historical Tilba. Good facilities and interesting home with very spacious main bedroom and ocean breezes. Lovely outdoor decks.

A charming beach cottage
We all had a great time at Didi’s cottage. Walking down to the beach, enjoying the terrasse with ocean view, relaxing in the fresh breeze. Kids had fun playing tennis table and body boarding. Great location for bike riding as well. Some great gravel routes in the nearby forests. Thanks Didi for making it a pleasant stay for us.

A mystery no more!
My group had a great stay at Didi's cottage at Mystery Bay over New Year 22/23. The house was great, the different decks great for different weather conditions and we all enjoyed a Table Tennis tournament on a rainy day in the garage. Initially we thought a week was too long as it wasn't really beach weather but there was always the local area to be explored and both Tilba and Narooma is just a short drive away. We didn't really miss the weak phone signal, most days it was possible to get a signal on the top deck if you had to catch up on missed messages. All in all a great place I will definitely recommend.

Comfortable with excellent access to beach
We really enjoyed our stay here. The kitchen was surprisingly well set up (sharp usable knives, a first in a coast house for me!) and the beds were super comfortable. The only issue we had was that at night we had to shut up the front and side doors as there are no screens. This meant the house was a bit warm. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay with a quick walk to the beach.

Quiet Beach Getaway
This was a lovely place to stay. The location was great and we particularly loved sitting on the upper deck for meals and watching and listening to the ocean. One thing to note is that there is no wifi at the location so you will need to go into town to use the wifi at the library if you need it.
