Well, relatively low-cost was my primary motivator when looking for a VRBO in Nags Head that offered two bedrooms and two bathrooms for our stay. This house was built in 1972 and has not been particularly updated since. It’s a design time capsule and a fairly well-worn time capsule at that. Look, if you are not that picky about things like worn-out linoleum, a small hole in the paneling here and there and carpet that might have actually been laid in 1972 and you really just need a place to lay your head while saving some bucks, this spot is fine. The water runs cold and hot, the roof doesn’t leak, the a/c units are new and work quite well and there is a washer and dryer. Bring extra towels and washcloths with you as there is about 1.5 per bedroom provided as well as beach towels, toilet paper and paper towels. Overall, this cottage is the epitome of that universal axiom of “you get what you pay for”. My wife and I keep trying to prove that theory wrong but we continue to fail at it.
