Holidays in Narrung

It's simple — a life full of surprises and adventure is a life well-lived. So dig out your passport, pack your bags and say hello to Narrung!

It sits 900 kilometres to the west of the nation's capital, Canberra.

West Beach and Henley Beach should be on your hit list if you want to go somewhere to relax by the ocean.

You won't have to venture too far afield to see some nice natural sights. Pack up the car and make your way to Granite Island, 50 kilometres away from Narrung, for a relaxing day. Or perhaps River Angas Walkway tickles your fancy? It's located just 40 kilometres away.

The Winehouse and the Cleggett Wines are close to the middle of Langhorne Creek, 25 kilometres to the north of Narrung. Why not head there and have a look?

Going to Murray Bridge? This destination is only 45 kilometres to the north. If you're setting up camp here, make sure you visit Unity College, the Murray Bridge Golf Course and the Murray Bridge Regional Gallery. Also consider stopping in at the Monarto Zoo and South Side Wakeboarding.

You won't find a better way to see the surrounding landscapes than on a captivating adventure. Sign yourself up for some hiking or four-wheel driving and get your blood pumping!

Shore fishing and camping are a couple of great ways to take a break and get some fresh air.

Are you interested in booking yourself on some wildlife spotting tours, culinary tours and winery tours? Ask your tour guide plenty of questions while seeing all that this region has to offer.

Whether you're diving into it, drifting on top of it or zipping across it, not much beats spending time around the water. You can take your pick of a number of watersports here, including swimming and snorkeling.

Credit cards? Check. Wallet? Check. But have you packed your appetite? With some fine food and drink to devour in this part of the world, it's the one thing you won't want to travel without.

Are you curious about some of the things that'll land on your dinner plate? There's a good chance they'll include beef, dairy products or both.

Ask a local what dish best sums up the region and salt and pepper squid will probably be the first thing they mention. Meat pie is another typical regional food you should keep a lookout for.

Still got a bit of room after the main course? Then put in your order for peach melba, a delicious sweet treat.

It can be tough to separate the wheat from the chaff when it comes to good beers, but one brew worth sampling is Southwark Premium. Grab a pint and bottoms up!

On the rocks or in a cocktail — your bartender ought to know the nicest way to drink Bundaberg Spiced Rum. If the night nods for something with a bit more zing, you can't top this tipple!

Whether you're a full-blown grape chaser or you struggle to get the cork out of a bottle, you're sure to love the regional Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon or Riverina Chardonnay.

Do you need to know where the nearest airport is? Well, it's Adelaide Airport (ADL) and it's 85 kilometres to the northwest.
