When I originally booked this hotel, I thought I was getting a well-reviewed, good-value, cave hotel. I received much more than I could imagine, however.
It is located in the small town of Uchisar, away from the touristy area of Goreme, and even within Uchisar, it is located up a hill, nicely isolated, but still within walking distance of the town center. You get a great view of the Uchisar castle right from the hotel grounds, and are even able to hike up to it in five minutes from the hotel.
The rooms are spectacular and spacious, exhibiting the caves they are built into while still feeling like a five-star hotel room. The included breakfast meal varies every morning, and is more food than you could possibly eat with a dozen different options of delicious morsels spread out on your table for you. The best part, I would say, is the fresh squeezed orange juice.
None of these spectacular features, however, compare to the extraordinary service we received here. Anything we needed, there was someone there ready to help us. If they noticed us not eating much at breakfast, they would ask if there was anything specific we would prefer they made for us. When we were feeling a little under the weather, they kept checking on us and offering tea with honey and lemon to help us feel better. In short, I felt like my own mother was running the hotel.
