My stay went pretty well. My only complaint is about the elevators. I’m sure this is a topic almost most guests. The scanning of the key card and the availability of the elevators was definitely not the greatest of experiences.

Staff was really good especially the cleaner service. The room however is a bit outdated and wasn’t the cleanest, there were also flies which they weren’t able remedy as they kept appearing. The lifts weren’t too bad although sometimes there is a wait. Not a bad hotel but closer to a 3 star hotel not 4.

The only good thing about this hotel is its location in downtown New York. Its proximity to major landmarks makes it very convenient for tourists. Iconic sites like the World Trade Center, Battery Park, and the ferry to the Statue of Liberty are all within walking distance. Additionally, public transportation is easily accessible, with nearby subway stations and bus stops providing quick connections to other parts of the city. For travelers looking to explore New York, the location is definitely the best part of this hotel. However, the positives stop there. The hotel itself is highly disappointing. Despite being a 44-floor building, it has only three small elevators, and they are extremely inefficient and cramped. Waiting times for the elevator are consistently frustrating, often exceeding five minutes, which is simply unacceptable for a high-rise hotel. The cramped design continues into the lobbies, which are narrow and difficult to navigate, making it feel claustrophobic. The condition of the rooms is equally underwhelming. They are small and lack the quality or comfort expected from a hotel in such a central location. Even basic services fail to meet expectations, with slow response times and subpar attention to detail. The elevator situation is the worst aspect of the hotel. For such a tall building, it is ridiculous to have such inadequate facilities. It creates constant inconvenience, especially during busy hour

Overall great experience had a weekend blast , loved that everything was walkable. Probably biggest downer was the elevator BUT it was just a tiny inconvenience in my weekend getaway. I’d definitely come back and stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton New York Downtown

The only drawback to this Hotel was the significant long wait for the elevator. 2 out 3 elevators worked and they were small NYC elevators . 41 floors.

Overall a good stay. My main complaint is the elevator! The wait for the elevator is insanely long. The entrance is on the ground floor and the lobby is on the second floor. You will have better luck taking the stairs. The building has 44 floors and 3 elevators. So, the wait can be an hour or so long. Most of the staff was friendly but, some of them are kind of rude. The Italian restaurant is great but overpriced. Calamari and pasta cost me $80 for room service.
