Avoid
The room was very small and no overhead light other than by bathroom. The bathroom was tiny and the shower never was closed enough to not have a wet floor. Only received bath mat towels two of four nights. And no hot water one night. None at all. I don’t recommend this unless they slash the price.

Fraudulent charges and lineups for elevators
I was happy with my hotel, despite the fact that it is super crowded and you have to line up and wait a very long time for the elevators. But be aware because the Hilton will put fraudulent charges on your credit card after you provide it for the security deposit. When I called them to ask what these charges were they had no record of them, so I had to start a dispute with my bank. Very annoying.

Upon arrival, we were not offered a water or Doubletree cookie, even though we are Hilton Honors members. We were not told about breakfast, or that there were snacks and beverages to purchase near the bar/rest. We proceeded to the elevator, the card reader located inside the elevator didn’t correctly tap and we instantly ascended to the 34 fl. We were unable to do anything until I had reception to call the front desk. The whole ordeal was incredibly scary. We opted to use stairs the next day, which was inconvenient however my partner was anxious getting back on after what we experienced. My last damper of our stay would be the shower, the bathroom floor completely flooded the Water cascading down the inside of the shower door. The towel Matt you place on the floor was a puddle.. this was a huge slip hazard that can easily be avoided. Overall, If planning to visit I’d certainly choose another place to stay with your family than Doubletree on west 40th.

Very good location. Walking distance (7 min) from MSG/Penn Station which is convenient if you’re flying from/to JFK. Other stations around Times Square, which can virtually take you anywhere in the city, are also 5-6 min away by walk. The room (especially bathroom was small) but overall appropriate for a short stay when you only need a place to sleep/shower. Staff was very nice and friendly.

There were issues at check in, long wait times for elevators sometimes up to 30 mins, room was dirty, lobby always packed and shared spaces were rundown, very noisy inside the room, hard to sleep.

Our room (2 beds) was super small, basically the size of a cruise ship room. Only one of 5 outlets worked, wallpaper was peeling off the walls. Just wasn’t as clean and kept as a Double Tree should be. Very disappointing!
