It’s amazing. Perfect service great location with a subway stop super close and a TKTS booth for half price tickets around the corner. PJ’s restaurant downstairs is legendary. We had lobster rolls. They let us store bags after we checked out. It’s perfect in every way.

I enjoyed the retro vibe of the hotel and the staff, such as Zee, and the team at the registration desk were very efficient, accommodating and friendly! We asked for a room upgrade and were able to move in to a larger room which fit our needs perfectly. Hotel is adjacent to Lincoln Center, which is a great location in the city. Look forward to a future stay! Thank you, Empire Hotel!

I’ve stayed here before and my previous room couldn’t have been more different than the one from yesterday’s reservation. The room on the second floor looked beat up (for lack of better words). There were holes in a number of the furnishings and the bathroom door was peeling. The room just looked very outdated and dingy, including the smaller and older model flat screen TV. I also woke up with horrendous allergies. The bed comfortable and at least the bathroom was clean from a sanitary standpoint. Staff was friendly and helpful. Also valet requires 45 mins to bring your car. Overnight parking for less than 12 hrs cost us $81, which is astronomical and they also don’t give you the price in advance. Would consider giving them another shot but if the experience is similar to this one, I may need to consider other options for my work trips.

The rooms need work. Ours was very dark at night as were the hallways. It would have been nice to have a coffee maker but the room was too small. The bed was very comfortable.

Awful experience! The Empire is listed as a 4-start hotel but only the elegant lobby lives up to it. The first room we were in looked like a scene out of a cheap horror film- cracked paint everywhere, everything was rundown and dirty, the bathroom smelled musty, and there was even a cockroach to top off the awful experience. We switched to a different room that better but still not anything close to a 4.5 star hotel. Find something else if you can!

The property is old and my room is too noisy of the the heater working. The soundproofing of the windows is too poor, and the noise from outside is so loud that I cannot sleep. The hand shower is out of order.

Honestly for the price this place was pretty disappointing... especially seeing the pictures and expecting something completely different... our room had NO view what so ever, it was just the building next to us so we had the window closed the whole time. Our bathroom door wouldnt shut, there was chipped paint, no ice bucket, no trash bags. Really not anything too special. For a cheaper price sure it would do the trick. But if I'm paying the same amount as someone else that has a view and has a bathroom door so you can have some sort of privacy, then it's not worth it. Not too mention that they try to push you out as QUICKLY as possible. It says 12pm check out but our key stopped working around 9am. Not to mention this place is OLD so just be mentally prepared. The people at the doors are nice, and they have a rooftop bar which is okay, but the area is good enough if you want to see a show at Lincoln theater. Definitely not if youre looking to see anywhere else in NY. Youre going to have to keep spending money for cabs.
