Nice hotel for New York City. Convenient location right near the No. 6 subway line. Rooms are a little small but it’s NYC. I liked it because it’s so close to so many things. I wouldn’t waste time on the breakfast. Beds were big and comfortable. Hotel was not weird or scammy.
the main reason that I would stay again and again is Samantha, Pierre, and Celina. Nice sheets and towels make it grander. My bay window was my favorite perch.
thank you everybody for making my trip home away from home a special one.
The room was nice. Everything was as advertised. It was a little frustrating to find out that we would be pre-charged for the minibar and stuff and refunded if we didn’t use them but it wasn’t a big deal.
Even though we had already paid through Expedia, they charged us the whole cost again, but swiftly corrected it.
Huge fan of private individual bathrooms in the lobby!
Summary: A decent choice if location is of highest priority else I would prefer a Marriott or any other chain hotel in FiDi if similarly priced.
Good: Location | Clean | Comfortable | Really good everyday room cleaning | King bed was nice and comfortable
Bad: Too small rooms | Hotel is too small without any amenities | Mosquitos if you open windows as there are no wire mesh | no source of fresh air as the windows open to some internal alley that does not seemed to be cleaned for ages | Closet smells from lack of any air circulation
We stayed for the US Open, it was convenient, clean, and comfortable. Rooms are small, hotel does not have all the bells and whistles of the big ones, but for what we needed it was great. Highly recommended, would stay here again.
The WORST hotel experience in my 70 years on this planet. The front desk person on the AM of my second day was worse than rude and totally unprofessional. She refused to release my partner’s car which had been valet parked the day before without being given a claim ticket. My partner had to call the police to get her car.
I was about to leave for the US Open for the day when I was told that I was being kicked out and had to find other accommodations. I was uninvolved in the car argument but was nevertheless kicked out. Needless to say this ruined my US Open experience and 3 day/2 night visit to NYC. I had previously stayed here several times before without incident. Until the staff is replaced with competent people who understand customer service and adhere to the notion that “the customer is ALWAYS right” no sane person should ever patronize this abomination of a hotel
Overall, my stay was very nice. The staff was pleasant and the small coffee shop was nice; although, it was a limited menu and took a long time to be served. I had the feeling nothing was made there; it was mostly brought in and maybe assembled there. Two things about the property that were frustrating were that the restaurant/bar is closed down, and my room (King Deluxe) didn’t match the online photos. There was only one small room window that opened onto a small, enclosed area that let in no direct light. If I leaned all the way into the window and looked way up, I could see a small piece of sky. That didn’t match the photos for that room by any means. My room was also smaller than the photos suggested. I feel both the room’s view and lack of a restaurant/bar were relatively large misrepresentations online. However, I would stay there again but make sure I had a better room.
Room was clean & decent size for one person. Bed was comfortable & lots of pillows available. Bathroom was well stocked & had plenty of towels available. Cleaning staff did a great job of cleaning while I was out for the day.
When I dropped my bags off on check in day the women working was very friendly. I dropped bags off around 2pm and was told my room would be ready at 4pm which wasn’t a problem as that was the time the booking said. When I arrived back at 4:10 was told my room was not ready. When I asked about 4pm check in the man looked at me like I had 3 heads. Room was not ready to check in until 4:45pm which is frustrating as I had an event at 5:30 that I had to prepare for. The same women who took my bags on check in day stored them for me on check out day. She was great to deal with.
This may be my new favourite hotel in NY. Generously sized room, insulated from street noise, friendly and helpful staff, well decorated, and centrally located. It ticked all of the boxes!
