The room I was given at check in was not a regular room. It was ground level, or partially below ground. Other than the bathroom everything else was just hodgepodge. Temporary bed, scattered furniture. And very very noisy.

My family stayed at Hudson Yards hotel in NY last weekend. On the first night of stay all night long there was a consistent and loud banging/hammering noise making it impossible to sleep. When they asked to switch the room they were informed that the noise won't be there over the weekend as there is no construction going on then which leads me to believe that the front desk staff was aware of the situation at the time of assigning the room. Nothing was conveyed during check-in. Out of abundance of caution, on the second night my family member used their newly purchased Bose earbuds to minimize the noise as they had a splitting headache all day but in a rush forgot them in the room next morning. I called the front desk the staff assured me that she will have the housekeeping check and will call me back after an hour. After about 2 hours I called her back to check on it and she informed me that housekeeping did not say anything but she has not forgotten and will call me back. No calls still. I called again after a couple of hours to see if she had heard anything. She said the same thing as earlier but then told me she contacted housekeeping while I was on the phone and they told her they could not find anything. She asked me what kind they were, I did not know at the time but then when I found out they were just the buds out of the case I called her to inform that, and subsequently the housekeeping that they were a very small item and are out the case and profusely requested

No central air. No air conditioning in the lobby. We stayed in the 3rd floor and could not close the windows blind all the way down so had to use our bags and backpacks to cover the window gap so people from the street and building across the street couldn’t see us. Poor lighting in the bedroom. The building/room smelled good, had enough hot water/good shower and comfortable bed. Great customer service. Thank you!

There was a cockroach in the bathroom that I named Peter. You might want to take care of him though. But overall the experience was nice and I didn’t see much of Peter after he disappeared into a crack in the bathroom wall.
