Although this is a classic hotel, it is definitely dated and ready for some updates. The bathroom tub and fixtures are extremely old and rickety. The room we had, albeit a beautiful view of the city, was tiny with very limited space to move around or even unpack your luggage. Again, the bathrooms need a serious update. Location was super congested since it was right near MSG, would probably choose another hotel for our next visit.

Excellent for business. Rooms are small but functional - this is an historic hotel and you’re in the middle of nyc. Your room will be steps from the elevators and that’s well designed - not much waiting

The room we stayed in was disappointingly small given the high price we paid for it. It felt cramped and did not provide the comfort we expected during our visit. After this experience, I’m unlikely to choose this option again for my next trip to New York City.

Great Hotel, Location and Amenities
Everything was really great. For the price and location, it was an excellent choice for myself and a friend (we specifically came to New York to take in a Broadway show, visit the MoMA, and explore the Bronx Botanical Gardens). The room was clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. No complaints about that. However, I would recommend adding an extra shelf or some hooks in the bathroom to accommodate cosmetic bags, brushes, and other toiletries. Additionally, the halls could use a bit of freshening up. Perhaps a new coat of paint in a color without a yellow undertone would brighten things up. I wanted to also give a super shout out to your front desk staff. One gentlemen helped print out the hotel pricing for my room. It helped me so much to clarify the charges I was seeing on my credit card. All good. Having received our key to the room, upon arriving to it we weren't able to open the door, but that's ok because we didn't like the disposition of it (it was located in a "dog leg" type of hall way on the 32nd floor). We returned back to the front desk and explained the situation. The wonderful girl at the desk (she was sitting actually) helped us as we asked if possible, to find another room instead. She did, and made the process seamless. We love how the tik tok diner is connected to the hotel. Love that spot. Love your coffee kiosk in the morning too! Excellent idea. Thanks!

We stayed a The New Yorker for an event at Madison Square Garden. The location is very convenient for a quick walk to MSG as well as Hudson Yards and a great view of the Empire State Building. The rooms were smaller and dated however what stood out to me was the IMPECCABLE customer service and for that alone, I would recommend staying here. Upon our arrival, I mentioned we were in town for my daughter's birthday which was the following day. The gentleman at the front desk worked diligently to upgrade our room for my daughter's birthday and we really, really appreciated his efforts as well as the additional space / bathroom. Then on what was to be our last day, we decided we wanted to stay an additonal night. I called the front desk and the woman was as equally as helpful as the the gentleman I encountered during check in. They were booked and the room we had been upgraded to was not available for another night but she found us a room that was available to us to move into right away so we did not have to bring our luggage down to check for the day. I also had an issue with my keycard being too close to my phone and had to get it programmed to work again - the woman that helped me with that was just as amazing. Prior to our arrival, I had a cake delivered to the hotel and the went above and beyond to place it in the fridge. If there is one thing about staying here, you will receive impeccable customer service. The rooms are small and dated but their service cannot be beat

This was a great stay for us. Very convenient location, with the train to Newark and subway just across the street. Walking distance to Times Square. The hotel room was outdated, but comfortable. Very loud area however, so a bit difficult to sleep.
