Awful experience
We did find the apartment clean. The building is another matter, as it is extremely dirty and run-down with window pains missing on other floors and our shutters had huge gaping holes. It appears as if painted or maintained the apartment in a century. When we arrived all the windows were open and as soon as we closed them we were appalled by a strong sewer smell. Also, the fact that the building's garbage cans are situated right under the windows where the back bedrooms are don't help.
We tried to contact the agency Stay yna but they were already closed (it was about 6pm in France) , so we had no other option but to spend the night there. My wife ended up sleeping in bath towels on the sofa with open windows since the smell in the bedroom was unbearable. On the next morning we decided not to wait anymore and booked a hotel nearby, since we don't have many holidays, we already lost a night and we couldn’t risk losing another night if (as it seemed obvious) the smell did not go away.
After many emails we got the commitment from Stay Yna to refund us for the nights we did not spend in the apartment- which is outrageous: they still charged us for one night in a place that is not in condition, plus a cleaning fee while we literally spent a few hours in the apartment and well, we also paid vrbo’s fee. So all in an awful experience with this flat and with Stay Yna.
