The soothing sounds of the natural world are waiting for you at Penalara Mountain. It lies just 50 kilometres away, so you needn't be stuck inside a car all day. Ducha de los alemanes, 45 kilometres away, is one more popular choice.

Whether you're striving to improve your technique or just get to the bottom in one piece, Segovia has the slopes you're after. You can choose from Puerto de Navacerrada Ski Resort or Madrid SnowZone.

If you want to head further afield, add a jaunt to Nava de la Asuncion to your plan. This locality is 6 kilometres to the northwest and is the home of Coca Castle and Torre Mudejar de San Nicolas.
