Great place to relax. They have three public onsen baths and we booked a suite with in-room hot springs bath. There is no much to do around the hotel, but Nikko is a fee train stops away. Breakfast and dinner buffets were expansive and highly recommended. Staff are always friendly and polite.
This was our second stay at Asaya and we booked a suite with in-room hot springs bath. We enjoyed both public and private baths. There is nothing much to do close by, so we chose to stay back in the hotel, enjoying onsen, relaxation and their award winning breakfast and dinner buffets! Fabulous staff and service, as expected of Japanese hospitality!
The hotel is very nice on the inside, but the area outside looks derelict. Also my own fault, but the area is not close to the major Nikko areas, it took us about 2 hours to get to the Kegon Waterfall, or about an hour to the Toshogu Shrine with trains that came hourly. I wanted to explore the Nikko National Park but wasn't really able to complete that part of the trip. However, if you want a relaxing trip from Tokyo, this is a great place to go. Keep in mind that Taxi cabs from the Station are about 1600 Yen but they do offer a 200 Yen bus that you can arrange beforehand.
Extremely well appointed hotel with many luxury items including. The buffet was top notch. Everything about the hotel get top score. The town however, was a dump. Not much was open within walking distance
Interior of the hotel was excellent. The staff was excellent also. Our room was very nice with lots of room but we did have a room with a private onsen. We had a room with a view of the river which was nice but several abandoned buildings along the river.
The room was clean, spacious, well stocked with all kinds of teas, and comfortable. The outdoor bath was so beautiful. Food was amazing and staff super friendly and helpful. We had a great stay.
Stay here if you want an Onsen experience in Nikko
Very nice hotel with incredible buffet for dinner and breakfast. Staff are so attentive and helpful. Hotel is by the river with constant calming babbling sound. Within walking distance to the Kinugawa Koen station. As we were walking toward the front entrance, the staff came out from the inside to greet us and guide us to the checkin counter. How nice is that! The Public bath is very nice even with different brands and types of shampoo and products to choose from. There are bath robes of various sizes to choose from in the room. We stayed at a traditional room. When we returned from dinner, the beds were already made on the tatami. And the buffet, oh man, is so impressive both in variety and taste. So glad we picked this place to stay!
