Around 2,600,000 people call this lively city home. After you've slid to a halt at Itami Airport and picked up your gear, Nishinari is a drive of 17 kilometres to the south. You'll find this terrific 'hood 7 kilometres south of central Osaka.

This city isn't short on glorious things to do, and you'll discover many of them near Nishinari. It's a challenge to choose the leading sights here, but the Osaka Science Museum and Osaka Takoyaki Museum are two you won't want to miss. You should also take a look around Osaka Castle and Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan. A great way to take in this city is to wander a few of its neighbourhoods. So why not make your way to nearby Taisho-ku and Shinsekai and explore their unique charms?

You’ll never be lost for things to do in the heart of Osaka. Universal Studios Japan® and Tsutenkaku Tower will keep you busy for hours. Shinsaibashi Shopping Arcade and the Osaka Museum of History are a couple more of the area's greatest draw cards.

If you possess a love of art, you should pay a visit to the Osaka National Museum of Art, the Osaka Museum of Oriental Ceramics, the Osaka City Museum of Fine Art and the Kamigata Ukiyoe Museum. Take a look around and if one of the works impresses you, chat to the staff about its background.

Sometimes it's the biggest and best exhibits that impress us the most. Other times it's an overlooked artefact that's been hidden away in a dusty corner. Keep a lookout for both at Osaka Culturarium Tempozan, the Osaka International Peace Center, the Sakai Traditional Industrial Hall and the Konpeito Petit Museum.

You can't quite beat the buzz of excitement when a live performance is due to kick off. Take your seat and wait for the curtains to rise at Symphony Hall, the Festival Hall, Intex Osaka and Osaka Symphony Hall.

There's nothing quite like holidaying with energetic kids to keep you feeling youthful. Embrace your inner child and have fun at the Osaka Public Nakanoshima Library and the Legoland Discovery Center.

Get outdoors and appreciate the views at the Osaka Castle Park, Mount Tempozan and the Honbō Teien.

Whether you're hoping to take a relaxing stroll or play a game of Frisbee with your friends, the nearby urban parks are charming places to be. Take your pick from Sumiyoshi Park, Nakanoshima Park, Tennoji Park and Utsubo Park.

A wonderful way to relive your holiday is by going home with a couple of mementos. See what takes your fancy at Kuromon Ichiba Mall, Osaka Central Wholesale Market, Tenjinbashi-suji Shopping Arcade and Sennichimae Doguyasuji Shopping Street.

The nearby historic attractions will provide you with an illuminating glimpse into the area's unique past. The Mint Museum, Osaka Castle Museum, Osaka City Hall and the Osaka Central Public Hall have plenty of tales to tell.
