Chanterelle is a unique gem in a stunning place … on the Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island. Earlene and Holger work diligently to provide outstanding, attentive, and responsive service to their guests. But it’s the opportunity to partake in extraordinarily fine dining for both breakfast and dinner, that really makes the time spent at Chanterelle uniquely wonderful. Treat yourself to this wonderful indulgence, and follow everyone’s recommendation to make reservations, in advance, for your dinner(s). We loved our three night stay.
My partner and I stayed at Chanterelle for two nights in early September and we could not have been more pleased! We thoroughly enjoyed the breakfasts and dinner, the accommodations were clean and tidy and the setting for the Inn was gorgeous.
You have to remember, this is an Inn. It’s not a hotel and it’s not a B&B. Room was super clean, and the breakfasts were really tasty. Dinner was not something we took part in due to our daily schedule, but because it’s an Inn, bring a guest of the Inn doesn’t mean you get an automatic dinner reservation. Book your reservation for dinner when you book the reservation for occupancy.
I would recommend this place to all that are looking for a clean, quiet location and hospitable stay.
Charming hotel up a hill where you can see for miles. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and was delicious. The only negative for me was lack of an elevator to second floor rooms because I have bad knees and stairs are not my friend.
The Chanterelle Inn and restaurant are perfect! The couple who own and run it have invested great care into every detail.
The exquisite dinner and breakfast meals were unexpected delights. The decor and bedrooms were lovely and relaxing. 26 acres surround the inn and create a welcome oasis right off Cabot Trail. This is a place we hope to visit again!
We loved our stay at the Chanterelle Inn! The hosts are great and the chef is awesome. Breakfast was included with our stay and it was delicious and a step above any breakfast we have ever had! We also made a reservation for a supper and again the meal was excellent with a very unique menu! It was a nice, peaceful place to stay. We ate our meals in screened in porch with a gorgeous view!
So relaxing and peaceful!

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service
I seldom choose Air B&B.
But I'm glad I chose the right one this time.
In one night's accommodation
We can see that the landlord is very friendly and the room is in good condition. The most important thing is that the room is soundproof and can rest quietly.
What surprises us is that there is a very good breakfast with many choices.
I will choose this family to live in the future.
It is a very nice and clean property on Cabot Trail. It is a family run business and host is an amazing person, breakfast was very good. Very nice views from the property.

Right on the Cabot trail. The service was great and the breakfast and dinner were amazing!!!
Wonderful room but the best meal you will find anywhere. We chose the full tasting menu which ranged from a warm shrimp salad to ice cream on rhubarb at the end with about five or six other dishes in between. It would be difficult to match in inventiveness, taste and quality what we had this evening with any restaurant in the country.
This is a very nice complex of a country inn and some self-catering cottages in a beautiful location on the Cabot trail.
The restaurant offerings are superb. The central area in the lodge has great charm.
