Choice hotel

Nice large room with kitchenette. Access to beach was great. Only minor complaint is breakfast was not included. I would have preferred that hotel included a breakfast with an appropriate fee (like they do in most European hotels). Overall, highly recommended.

Appreciated hanging out on our balcony to watch the sturgeon moon rise. Always so enjoy being so close to the ocean. I could go back and forth from the room to the beach so easily while my husband (who is not a sand lover) can relax while I play

We had such a great weekend!! The hotel was very nice…a bit dated but most hotels in the area seem older. We loved that it had a bar/restaurant, pool tables, and a nice pool. We didn’t eat at the restaurant so I can’t comment on the food. We did grab towels by the pool for the beach…and they were very small (seriously, thin and not much smaller than a hand towel). Bring your own beach towels for the beach! The room view was great - partial ocean was plenty of ocean view!! The balconies are not private so keep that in mind. The beds were ok…not the greatest. There’s a coffee shop downstairs that had very good coffee!! We didn’t realize how far down on the boardwalk this hotel is - it’s a pretty far walk to the action of the boardwalk- the rides, games, etc. However, there is a bus that runs for $4/day and stops all along the main road. We recommend that!! Also, there are so many places to eat that we didn’t have a bad meal! We had a wonderful stay overall and would recommend The Grand to others!

Staff at front desk was very friendly and made check in a breeze . Indoor pool was kind of small but no big deal. Staff at breakfast restaurant on 6th floor was not that friendly and not convenient hours as they closed at 12 . But overall great location and would return !

I love the boardwalk and being able to walk along the ocean. I was in an ocean-front room and willing to pay the price for the view and sound of the ocean. Unfortunately, my room was located next to the large air conditioning units on the roof - the sound of the large motors took away from the sound of the ocean. For me this was the biggest drawback. The food choices in the hotel were not great, but there are so many other spots nearby off the boardwalk it was not a big deal. (Check Yelp for nearby restaurants.) One more point - the fire alarm went off at 12:15 AM one night and everyone needed to evacuate. The front desk staff - including the one wearing a “security” shirt - did nothing to direct guests. They both stayed behind the front desk in total silence. (The alarm going off is not a fluke - it’s happened before when we’ve stayed in that area.) The metal gates between balconies were rusted and broken. Cabinets were pulling away from the wall and water pressure in the shower was very low. The Grand is in need of a makeover.

Not worth the price. Stayed in room with deck view which was very disappointing. No privacy on balcony. Room was spacious with 2 queen beds which were hard & uncomfortable. Bathroom extremely small. 2 pools were nice and several restaurants and stores in hotel.
