Holidays in Ohyu

Forgetting to rock up to your performance review is a sure-fire sign that you need to get away. So why not step off the beaten track to Ohyu and take in the impressive coastal plains of South Gyeongsang? (The only thing you'll have to remember is how to chill out!)

The country's capital, Seoul, lies approximately 240 kilometres to the north of Ohyu.

You don't have to head too far to enjoy some pleasant natural sights. Jump in the car and follow the road signs to Jiri-san National Park, 35 kilometres away from Ohyu, for a laid-back day. Or perhaps Gayasan National Park is more your cup of tea? You'll find it 35 kilometres away.

Want to check out the Daewonsa Temple and Sancheong Bowlingjang? These awesome sights are quite close to the middle of Sancheong, 16 kilometres to the south. Use this as a base for a while and start doing some exploring!

Keen to visit the Tapsa Temple, the Eunsusa Temple and Maisan Hwaeomgul Cave? Make tracks to Jinan, 55 kilometres to the northwest, and set up base. These attractions, as well as Maisan Mountain and Mt.Maisan, are all close.

If you're after something a bit more lively, check out the local mountain climbing options. Or maybe hiking is something you'd like to try? Whichever you choose, you're certain to have a great time.

'Stressed' spelled backwards is 'desserts', and we don't believe in coincidences. There's no more delightful way to wave goodbye to your worries than with andong sikhye (rice dessert), a treat that's often found on dining tables here.

If you really want to see the big pitcher, grab the hopportunity to throw back a beer. Schooner rather than later! Awful beer puns aside, make sure you taste test Prime Max, one of the most popular local brews.

Mixed, straight, in a cocktail — it really doesn't matter! One or two shots of cheongju (rice wine) ought to add some oomph to your night out! It's a hit with locals, and it's certainly worth tasting.
