Had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The views were beautiful, it was very clean and staff was so friendly they were very patient with us not knowing how to speak Japanese but they were so nice and communication was good ! On site restaurant was also very good although we noticed other options were very limited . Room was very nice also and we loved the pajamas and sippers that were on the bed. Over all great stay but we were surprised that the beds were very very hard although we slept ok . We would definitely return !
Located on a small island accessible via bridge from Okinawa's main island--the resort has beautiful views of the ocean. Built over twenty years ago, the building itself is definitely showing its age, but has been partly refurbished. The hotel restaurant was very good. There is a large public bath on the top floor with views of the ocean.
To be honest, the breakfast buffet was only so-so and the location is out of nowhere but the ocean view of the hotel is really the main selling feature. One of the disappointing part is that the restaurant closes early and considering its located in the middle of nowhere they should at least have room service.
It was perfect! The restaurant breakfast service was amazing. The waitress was wonderful and the food was great! I grew Up in Okinawa and I travel a lot. This place is absolutely beautiful and secluded!!
This resort is beautiful and modern in appearance. It is up above the prettiest beach in Okinawa. The staff is wonderful, gracious, and always worked to make our experience great. The free breakfast in the morning was in the form of a buffet that you could visit until you were full. The food was amazing! We ate lunch here the first day, and then we were out sight-seeing for the rest of our week during lunch time. But we always came back in time for Dinner at this resort because it was incredibly affordable but presented in a gourmet style. Plenty to get full on, also. They would lay out clean pressed pajamas and house shoes everyday after they fully cleaned and restocked our room. We felt very comfortable in this clean, calm and very hospitable resort. We will be back for another visit!
Great hotel with a pool and a beaches just down the hillside. The views from the windows, balconies, lobby, pool and all other areas are simply beautiful; the staff is also very nice and helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again if I were to travel to Okinawa on another occasion.
Hotel staffs are very friendly, serving people in a professional manner. Oceanview rooms are awesome. Although the swimming pool is too small and not good enough for adult swimmers, the view is great.
The hotel is located on a beautiful small bay. If you are looking for a quiet retreat this is the perfect spot. After touring the west side of Okinawa we decided Hotel Hamahigashima was the best option. If you are looking for a big hotel with many amenities you should consider the west side of Okinawa, otherwise Hotel Hamahigashima was a great choice.
Hotel Hamahigashima has a wonderful restaurant. We ate the lobster set dinner two nights in a row. Our package included breakfast and there were both Western and Asian options available. The pool is quaint and not very large. It was easy to access the beach (which could use a bit of clean up). I'm not sure it there are ever beach chairs available as it rained the day we were there. The day of our departure the sun decided to come back out and there was a jet ski outfitter right off the beach. The coin laundry was also nice to take advantage of 7 days into our 2 week vacation.
There is not much else around the hotel. I saw one cafe along the road to the hotel but no other shops or restaurants. We may have been there before the season got started or it may be quiet all the time. The room was clean, comfortable and had a great view of the beach and ocean. All of the staff is professional, polite and helpful.
You may feel like you are headed to a deserted island when you first drive out to the hotel but you will soon find yourself in a modern and clean hotel with a great restaurant.
Perfect for an unwinding weekend. Quiet, private and clean. Loved the beach but wished the weather was better for snorkeling. Food was delicious but a bit expensive.
Lovely and spacious place in beautiful surroundings. The staff is very friendly and speaks excellent English. The Japanese breakfast was impressive too.
