Central, pet friendly! Walk everywhere in the Orange CBD

Built in 1876, this two storey terrace is part of Bowen Terrace, a NSW state heritage listed property on the edge of Orange CBD. Recently restored, with many of its original features retained, the terrace is in an ideal base from which visitors can easily explore Orange. Tastefully decorated with a combination of antique and retro furniture, the terrace is both spacious and cosily comfortable. SMALL/MEDIUM pets welcome! The terrace offers a convenient and chic alternative to hotel accommodation.

The sleeping and living arrangements at the terrace are best suited for up to 6 adults (or older children). The two large master bedrooms have queen beds and the smaller upstairs bedroom at the rear has a double bed. The upstairs master bedroom stretches the width of the terrace and features two French doors. The downstairs queen bedroom is situated in the original terrace drawing room and has an antique brass bed. All bedrooms feature twin bedside lamps and tables and embroidered sheets.

The lounge room is downstairs and contains a large African day bed and 3 retro armchairs for reading, chatting or watching television. There is also a modern gas log fire and an antique chapel organ.

The lounge leads onto a spacious dining room with a terracotta floor and a large country table. There is also some occasional seating including an antique chaise lounge. A French door opens from the dining room onto a sunny courtyard where there is outdoor seating. The courtyard and dining room are filled with morning sun so they are ideal spots for breakfast.

For anyone wishing to dine in, there is also a separate kitchen with stove, oven, range hood, microwave, fridge, dishwasher and the basic cooking equipment you need to whip up a breakfast or light meal. Basic condiments such as oil, balsamic, salt and pepper are provided as are tea, coffee, sugar and milk. There is also a coffee pod machine/milk frother.

There are two large bathrooms - the upstairs bathroom has a shower, vanity and toilet and the downstairs bathroom contains a shower bath (jacuzzi) vanity basin and toilet. Body wash, hand soap and towels are provided for both.

The upstairs rooms of the terrace have central heating/air conditioning. In the cooler months, the downstairs rooms are heated with individually controlled panel heaters as well as the gas log fire in the lounge. There are also electric blankets fitted to all the beds should they be needed. There are portable fans available for the downstairs rooms for the warmer months.
Make yourself comfortable in this air-conditioned vacation home, which features a fireplace. A kitchen is outfitted with a refrigerator, an oven, and a stovetop. Conveniences include a microwave and a coffee/tea maker.
Take advantage of recreation opportunities such as a spa tub or take in the view from a terrace and a garden.
Guests will find features like internet access and onsite parking.

Needs a few updates for a Perfect stay
The property is nicely decorated and situated on a busy (yes - this was described in the listing but trucks still very loud as they slow for traffic lights outside bedroom windows) main road a short walk from town. The beds were clean and very comfy and good gas / electric heating. The upstairs main bedroom is extremely drafty despite draft 'fabric snakes' but electric blankets very welcome, even though these didnt work properly in downstairs bedroom. The lounge needs a couch as 3 chairs and a very uncomfortably wide wooden daybed meant it was not a nice place to congregate. The TV was not connected to house Wifi (and we tried everything!) so using our own data to watch a movie felt penny-pinching. The kitchen was not well equipped. One small platter, limited utensils and no appliances from made it hard to cook a full meal. Eg, couldn't make a simple soup as no blender or potato masher and we had to use plastic chopping boards to serve food onto for a shared meal. Front and back gardens are neglected. The dining table is spacious and the best place to hang out in this historic property. Overall, a few tweaks and this nice property could be 5 Star.

We had a wonderful long weekend with our two cavoodles at Lisa's property. Everything was just as good as it looked on the website. The entire property was clean and comfortable. Communication was good and the check-in was easy. Some road noise however we slept very well!

The property was immaculately presented in a perfect location in town. Close to all of Orange's main street attractions. We were two couples without kids and this suited us perfectly. Totally recommend

This is a very interesting property. Exquisitely renovated heritage in East Orange, maybe the poorer side of town. Wonderful art on the walls, every need met, except a sense of reluctancy from the owner to give me her phone number, which made me feel insecure. But we all felt priviledged to experience this property. Orange is a beautiful town, especially Duntry golf club. Great meal and beautiful parkland golf course.

Excellent spot - comfort and central to Orange
Lovely heritage home with perfect modernisations. Upstairs and downstairs perfect for two couples (although trek to bathroom at night if downstairs) Comfortable and spacious. Great location to explore wineries, restaurants and historical sites around Orange. Not to mention the thriving town with artisan butcher/bakers/deli - such choice for foodies. We’ll come again thank you.

Close to Orange’s many great downtown amenities
The property was very clean and as described in the listing. It is an easy walk to terrific restaurants, unique stores, the Orange Museum and Gallery and much more. Orange has a lot to offer. As others have noted, the terrace is located on the main road through town and traffic noise can be quite loud from time to time. It was cold and rainy during our visit and the gas fire and other heating throughout the property made for a cosy retreat.

Located close to CBD - shame about the traffic noise
POSITIVES - comfy beds, very effective heating, complimentary wine, walking distance to cafes, restaurants and shops. NOT-SO-POSITIVES - traffic noise (trucks and V8's late into the night), lounge furniture could be more comfortable and better suited to the occupancy levels, kitchen only adequately equipped, gardens & courtyard could do with some TLC.

Gorgeous Terrace
Upon entering we were greeted by a property that was immaculately presented. Extremely well equipped kitchen and beautifully renovated. Close to all ammenities. The only negative for us was the traffic noise that went on late into the night and as our room fronted the street, sleep was difficult.

Breathtaking. A total gem. Location location
From the very moment we walked in to this home to the 4 days later when we reluctantly left we were constantly awed with how comfortable it was. To walk into the dining room with beautiful timber table to the lounge with the gas fire blazing to the spa bath. This is a heritage terrace and it has be done up beautifully. We were asked not to wear shoes on the newly restored 1876 floorboards and that was an absolute pleasure. The entire terrace was modern with comfort and history in mind. From the brass rain shower over the 2 person spa in the downstairs bathroom to the refurbished chain cistern in the upstairs bathroom again a rain shower and the water was steaming hot with good solid pressure. The kitchen has everything needed, coffee machine (and abundant pods), wine glasses, dishwasher, glass cooktop. Nothing was missing. Wifi was good and allowed us to use Netflix if we wanted to. The location was great, 3 short blocks down to the Hotel Canobolas and the main shopping area so an easy walk after a 400g steak and a few ales. In a nutshell, this was a perfect place to get away for a few days.

Last minute visit to Orange
We were delighted to find the Bowen TerrCe property available for our last minute decision to visit Orange. The property was beautifully appointed and located within short distance to the city centre and lots of fantastic breakfast coffee shops . This property met our expectations from the online listing . Would definitely book this property again .
