Rooms need maintenance. Wallpaper near the window was coming off the wall, likely due to moisture, and the office chair had lots of wear and tear. The rooms are spacious and the place is quiet with lots of parking spaces.

The location is great and convenient to Orcutt. But the Radisson used to be a higher end hotel in Santa Maria. Now it is outdated and showing signs of being run down. The wall paper had bubbles and tears in it. The bathrooms didn't have fans and it was just in need of a good remodel. We had friends also stay there and they felt the same way.

The hotel was under construction which was not disclosed. The room was dirty, a hole in the bathroom door, sheets were discolored and had holes, curtains broken, power strips hanging out, no fan in bathroom, pool/spa out of service, construction noise early, trip hazards, etc. it was a terrible place to stay besides being able to use the lobby to sit and chat with friends.

Paint coming off the walls, metals rusting, walls falling apart, rips in the curtains, stains all over the floor, mold on the ceilings, $12 for a coffee and a cold bagel? I had to stay there due to limited time but I definitely bought Lysol spray and wipes I didn’t trust it at all.

Idea for interim trash removal
The hotel cleans the rooms every third day. On one hand I agree with this form of service as it reduces consumption of water, keeps costs lower for the hotel and by extension for me. I don’t change my linens daily at home so why should I expect them to be changed daily in a hotel. Having said this, it would be nice if there were a garbage bag in the room so I could empty the bathroom and bedroom trash receptacles daily or every couple days when they fill up. The filled larger bag could be placed in the hall and picked up by housekeeping overnight.
