Prior to booking my stay, I checked the reviews and they were generally decent reviews; however, I unfortunately did NOT have a good experience here at all.
After checking in around 3pm, I went to Universal Studios, where I spent most of my day. I came back to the hotel somewhere around 10pm, showered and went straight to bed. I woke up around 7am to use the bathroom, where I encountered some roaches (one of my biggest fears). I managed to kill two, and the smaller ones ran underneath the floorboard. I was so disgusted and uncomfortable, I quickly got ready, packed my bag and made my way out to the hotel lobby. While getting ready, my boyfriend also noticed mold on the bedside table lamp.
I explained to the person at the front desk about my experience, and he simply apologized for the inconvenience and told me they cannot do anything for me except check-out and offer me a free pass into the breakfast buffet. I was very upset about this outcome because I paid money to have an unfortunately disgusting stay at a hotel (which was cut short due to my disgust and discomfort), and all they can do for me is offer me an extremely mediocre breakfast buffet?
I am a very understanding person, and I am not picky by any means; however, this is something I simply cannot be okay with. I have never had an experience like this at a hotel, and I am extremely disappointed and upset about the experience and the outcome.
