Completely renovated in 2020, this property was custom built for the farm's original owners over half a century ago. The Lodge sits on the choicest part of our property on a bluff overlooking beautiful Narrin Lake. This is the perfect place to stay if you need more space for you and your guests. Enjoy our many amenities including a large kitchen, hiking trails, grill, pool table, view of the lake, and an open living space.
The Lodge has been recently refinished and is one of only two spaces with a King bed, and the only space that can sleep a larger group of up to 9 people. This space has the largest kitchen making it perfect for cooking delicious meals during your stay.
The Lodge cabin is the biggest space on the property and has the best views of the lake off the back deck.
There are three other cabins nearby on the property so you will see other guests on the property. The cabins are far enough apart where you will not be disturbed by the other cabins and will still feel secluded while getting to enjoy the peaceful scenery away from the hustle and bustle of home.
There are miles of forested hiking paths throughout the farm and access to Narrin Lake from these trails as well. Narrin lake is a private-access, spring-fed lake with no motorsports. There are parts that can be quite clear and deep (85’) and other sections are marshland. All of the shoreline is natural. If you plan to play in or near the water, we recommend water shoes or other foot protection.
We are working on building out a range of experiences for our guests to interact and learn more about the horses that live at Narrin Farms. We are not offering riding lessons or trail rides (yet!), but hope to do so soon. ****Please do NOT feed the horses. The fences around the pastures are electrified and are on at all times for the safety of the horses and donkeys; please do not touch the fence.****
You’re welcome to visit with the donkeys, Jackson and Samson, or the cow, Maxim any time! Please do not feed the donkeys (no matter how much they beg, or how cute they look).
***Please note, horses and donkeys on the property may not always be outside in the pastures or accessible as it is up to the owner’s discretion. FOR YOUR SAFETY, do NOT enter the barns or pastures without prior approval by Annie. This is not a dude ranch.***
Your host is Annie, who also co-hosts with Holly and Carl. All three of us live nearby and are available if need be in person. Annie will make sure The Lodge is ready upon your arrival so that you can walk in and make yourself at home. If you have questions, it’s easy to reach Annie or Holly via cell or the Airbnb app.
The farm is located in a rural area. Expect a country atmosphere and small-town presence. You’ll need to drive on a dirt road for about a mile to access the property.
Our little town offers a 24-hour grocery store, bars, restaurants, and drug stores within just a few miles. Nine miles further down the road is the Village of Clarkston, where you’ll find unique and upscale shopping and dining. Major shopping malls, movie theaters, and big-box retailers are 25 minutes away. Please see our House Manual and Guidebook for details.
There’s not much for Uber or Taxi services around the farm. You’ll want to have your own car.
For an accurate rate, make sure you enter the correct number of people in your party. The rate that defaults in the system is based on a 4-person occupancy. Each additional guest over the age of two is $50/night.
If you are planning to have additional visitors drop in, make sure that you comply with the guidelines that are provided in the Rules section.
Many GPS systems will route you to an old commercial entrance off Glass Road. Make sure that you enter through the main gates on the paved drive from Bird Road instead.
Please read the guest manual before arriving. It includes important instructions about how to enter the farm and where to park.
We aim to provide a peaceful and scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay with us. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that leaves a distinct odor after your departure or finding any drugs or evidence of partying violates this policy and will result in a $250 restoration fee. Smoking is STRICTLY prohibited anywhere on the property or inside the cabin.
No Smoking Policy:
Smoking is strictly prohibited anywhere on the ENTIRE property, or inside the house. You will be charged a $250 restoration fee if the house smells like smoke, or if smoking-related paraphernalia is found, or detected after your stay.
Neutral Scent Policy:
We aim to provide a scent-neutral environment to ensure that each guest experiences a healthy, comfortable, and enjoyable stay. Please respect the next visitor by not using heavy perfumes, medicinal oils, cannabis, or air fresheners. Burning, vaporizing, smoking, diffusing, or cooking anything that can be detected in the air, or on the fabrics after your departure could violate this policy and you may be charged up to a $250 restoration fee.
Special Events and Commercial Use:
If you are planning a stay for special events, extra guests, parties or commercial use including photography, please reach out to us before booking to discuss your plans. These events may include additional fees and/or permits. Not receiving prior permission can result in removal from property by AirBnB.
Barnyard:
Please do not feed the horses or barnyard animals without permission from the barn crew. The fences around the pastures are electrified and are on at all times for the safety of the animals, please do not touch the fence.
For your safety, do not enter the barns or pastures without prior approval by Annie, or the barn crew.
Dogs:
If you’re one of our visitors with a dog, please keep your dog by your side, on a leash, until you hit the hiking trails (away from the residences and barnyard).
If you plan to leave them alone in the house, they must be in a crate/kennel as we know even the best behaved dogs act differently in new environments.
Sorry, no cats.
Quiet Hours:
There are other guests at the farm so we ask that you respect a 10 p.m. - 8 a.m. quiet hour. No music, loud noises etc. after that time. If you will be using the hot tub or bonfire pits after 10 p.m. , we ask that you keep the noise level at a minimum so other guests are not disturbed during the night.
Hot Tub:
You must shower before entering the hot tub to remove oils, detergents and chemicals in body lotions, makeup and deodorants. They can enter the spa filters, causing them to clog and foul the spa water.
NO food, or drinks are allowed in the hot tub. Please cover the hot tub when not in use. Again, these things may foul the water.
If our professional spa company must come out for a special cleaning of the spa water after your stay, then a restoration fee of $100 will be assessed along with any additional costs resulting from issuing refunds, or cancellations to the guests who are scheduled to arrive after you and won't be able to use the hot tub as expected.
