Nice room spoiled by smell from the drains.
The staff was friendly, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean, but it smelled a bit like sewage, which probably came up through the drains. I kept the plugs in and put towels over the floor, but I could not get rid of it. The dining hall was uninviting, with food to match. Except for the lovely staff, it was one of my worst hotel breakfast experiences.

Toyoko Inn was a wonderful property. Its convenient to the subway, close to Dotombori, clean, friendly and helpful staff. The room for 4 pax was super spacious. One queen, 2 twins, a couch and table w/stools, 2 bathrooms, 2 tvs and privacy blinds. The also have free hot breakfast. The only reason this place is 4 stars is because their matresses are ultra firm and super uncomfortable. Otherwise an excellent location.

I am writing to express my disappointment with the recent checkout experience I had at your hotel on October 17, 2024. We booked an upgraded Superior Double room from October 14 to 17. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by a negative encounter with one of your staff members, Yukitoshi. Despite my understanding of a slight delay in checkout, Yukitoshi displayed an unprofessional and hostile attitude, demanding late checkout fees. I had already called the front desk at 9:45 AM to inquire about the possibility of a later checkout time and had received verbal confirmation to be eligible till 10:20 AM. As we came downstairs at 10:30 AM and attempted to inquire for any wiggle room, I received zero explanations and an unwillingness to listen from the staff. The lack of willingness to listen from Yukitoshi created a frustrating and bitter experience for customers. I believe Yukitoshi's behavior was unacceptable and reflected a lack of customer service skills. I explained to Kushima, a helpful staff who can speak English, that all Yukitoshi did during this baffling experience was shouting the word “policy” and spoke a bunch of Japanese to a foreigner. I am a tourist who does not speak Japanese and this was communicated multiple times. Considering many of your guests are likely non-Japanese speakers, your front desk staff must be able to communicate effectively and professionally with guests from diverse backgrounds.

I was in Osaka for 6nights & spent 3nights in TokyoInn. Location was good - was just beside afew metro exits B4,B6,B8 (within 20-40metres). I chanced upon exit 24 fr the basement, it leads to a basement of a building & had an escalator up to road level, you'll be inside a building, the glass door is just like 3-5metres away fr the escalator & it leads you to the main road along the other B exits. Check in was a breeze, staff guided me to a selfserve machine, when I had long pauses trying to read/understand the instructions, they would return to guide me to the nxt steps. The machine scans your passport & issue the room key. Check out was similar, press some buttons on the screen return the room card to the machine. There's plenty of lockers at the basement (it's free) if you're arriving very much earlier than checkin time or departing later than check out. (I transit fr another Osaka hotel and was doing day trip out of Osaka, managed to park my luggage there at 8am, and returned around 9pm for check in). Housekeeping is only done every 4days I think, I was there for 3nights and it's good bcus I'm not a fan of housekeeping. Fresh towels, floor mat will be hung at your door everyday though. There's some toiletries/tea at the lobby - you can take what you need. Breakfast was at the basement, food was decent and adequate - it's free and the spread was not bad. I read saw some other reviews and saw that there were salmon, but my days there was chicken and sardine only sad😞

I was looking for a place close walkable Namba station because I needed to take the train to the airport as well as a place close to the hustle and bustle of Dontonbori. This place fits the bill and the staff and seamless check in was an additional plus! Would recommend.

Place was a good value and walking distance towards dotonburi which was very convenient. The room itself was a standard Osaka sized room. Bed and pillow were the least comfortable of my trip between 3 hotels. The wifi was absolutely terrible and would constantly disconnect and unable to connect.

The hotel had self check-in that is impersonal and spits out your room card with little information. Room is clean but very small. At 10:30 am, I received a call from the front desk staff demanding that I come down and pay immediately 1000 yen for overstaying. I told him it was a mistake as I thought check-out was at 11. He yelled and said it was their policy and demanded I pay the yen before leaving. Even though it was my mistake, he could have been professional and kinder. Absolute worst experience I’ve had while in Japan!
