If you're headed to Ozu, keep this in mind — hotel options in the vicinity are as scant as the hair on your great uncle Terry's head!

But don't work yourself into a tizzy just yet. Seiyo is approximately 15 kilometres away and offers some brilliant accommodations, such as the Hotel Clement Uwajima and Uwajima Oriental Hotel.

It's well known that Aussies are pretty relaxed, so consider chilling out a little longer and going to the Lake Ishitegawa Dam and the Sairin-ji Temple in Matsuyama, 45 kilometres to the northeast of Ozu. If you'd like to stay in Matsuyama, look into the rates at the Okudogo Ichiyunomori and Hotel Mielparque Matsuyama. 85 kilometres to the east of Ozu you'll find Kochi, which is home to The Crown Palais New Hankyu Kochi and Nishitetsu Inn Kochi Harimayabashi.
