Loved the food, staff, pools and beaches. Only critique is this, the game room isn't up to your resorts standards. Get a decent pool table, a real ping pong table. A card table, a dart board and maybe some TV screens.

Staff was outstanding, food was excellent, weather was perfect, loved the monkeys and iguanas, kayaks, jet skis, pools, consistently available seating, nearby empty beach, and electric bikes. This is a beautiful property in a spectacular location. It is great for hikers and walkers, the property is spread out and hilly, and it was really hot. So, be ready for some Sherpa hikes! The staff is very accommodating to shuttle you around on golf carts but then you aren’t enjoying the gorgeous scenery.

This is a beautiful property! I would not recommend it for anyone with issues walking however. They do offer golf cart rides which is very nice, but it’s still a lot of up and down. This did not bother us but I could see how others may have issues. The way it’s built into the side of a mountain is quite stunning but keep in mind the hills and stairs. The rooms are decent size and have very nice balconies. Linens and toiletries were very nice as well. The staff was extremely friendly, but not always attentive; maybe it’s cultural? We used the new beach club area which isn’t fully operable yet but we really enjoyed that area and the food was great. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent but the other restaurants for lunch and dinner weren’t anything special. We would recommend this hotel to anyone going to the beautiful Papagayo Peninsula and that cannot afford the Four Seasons.
