The staff at Hotel Exquis were extremely pleasant and accommodating - especially Nicolas. The hotel itself was stylishly decorated and felt very homely. The rooms were small, but had everything we needed and were amazingly quiet for being in Paris! The beds were particularly comfy. The rooms were spotlessly clean; the cleaners did a good and diligent job, we were grateful. The breakfast was absolutely delicious! And the atmosphere was friendly, warm and cosy.
There’s just a couple of reasons we can’t give our stay a complete five stars:
- In one of our rooms, when we arrived and entered the bathroom, the smell of drains was strong; however once we used the shower (the drain in which was the source of the smell I think) the smell went away.
- The sink in our room was *outside* the bathroom which meant we had to exit the room to wash our hands and then re-enter to dry our hands; this wasn’t the most ideal layout but we coped! It wasn’t a huge deal but worth noting.
- The plug in one of the rooms was blocked.
- The safe in one of the rooms broke, but *was* promptly fixed!
- In one of the rooms, the shower was *in* the bedroom with just a curtain separating it from the bed; again, just something to note.
Overall, a really pleasant stay. I’d definitely visit Hotel Exquis again - particularly because of the tasty breakfast, friendly staff and homely, well thought out decor!
