We were looking for a quiet, country cottage with beautiful views and that’s exactly what we received. We were simply delighted. Everything’s exactly what it says on the tin. Thanks Peter!

Lovely cottage in perfect location
Whilst the cottage is small it has everything that a couple and a dog could need. Lovely and clean, well appointed, fantastic shower and a view to die for. Could not have asked for more. Would not be suitable for someone without a car.

Adequate accommodation
Accommodation had everything we needed for our stay. Location was a little more remote than anticipated but that was due to lack of knowledge of the area. freezer could’ve done with a defrost as unable to shut the door. TV remote very hit and miss as to whether it worked or not, did replace the batteries didn’t seem to make a difference. advertised with private wood area and the spotting of red squirrels however no such luck. overall felt the outside of the property could do with a little TLC window boxes planters etc just suggestions. overall we had a very comfortable stay thank you

Lovely hideaway
This is a well maintained property in a great location with fantastic views. Well equipped. Cosy and warm. There was level access for a wheelchair user - however we were disappointed that this didn’t extend to the main garden. Perhaps this could be fixed by providing access through the adjoining property?

Fantastic stay at Erika's cottage
Had a lovely time at Erika's cottage! The views from the living room and bedroom of Blencathra are fantastic, such a beautiful view to wake up to with a cup of tea in bed! Perfect location, 10 minute drive into Keswick with some brilliant walks on your doorstep! Highly recommend; Aira Force, Blencathra, Keswick Rail Way and Lowther Castle grounds! Will definitaly be revisiting!!

Lovely cottage in beautiful location
The cottage was spotlessly clean and tastefully decorated with modern kitchen & bathroom, a comfy sofa and bed and beautiful views. It is tucked away in a peaceful location but only a short drive from Derwent Water and Ullswater so there’s plenty to see and do nearby. The secure garden was perfect for our dog. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this cottage to couples / singles who want a peaceful location.

Stunning location
The property is set in a stunning setting, opposite Blencathra, in a really quiet location. Unfortunately, however, the cottage has a rodent problem. Each morning we'd find mouse droppings underneath the fridge, on window ledges and by the sink. On leaving we also discovered mice had chewed through one of our bags.

Okay for a short stay
Fantastic location & views. Very basic which let it down. Not great when you travelled 4hrs on the road & not find any milk in fridge for a cup of tea. Lovely shower but all the mould let it down (even the fake plant was covered in mould). Tiny bath towels and no blind on window,Hole in fence has not been fixed but some broken chairs put in front which didn't take my dogs long to figure out & no outside light in garden so i had to use my phone torch to make sure they did not escape at night. It's a shame as this place could be exceptional if money was spent on it with a few homely touches & a welcome pack.

Beautiful Cottage, Just Lacking in Areas
Lovely location and property but we were left without many essentials. No soap, budget towels, 1 bin bag, 3 toilet rolls and minimal cooking equipment (no oil, lack of crockery, glasses etc) - to last the week. We made do and bought what we needed but were left thinking the place needed an uplift. Windows latches were on the way out, dishwasher leaking, extractor fan hadn't been connected up to ducting above the hob. A washer dryer would have been ideal too, we had to try and dry our clothes using the single rack near radiators which wasn't effective and left clothes smelling damp. (not good for moisture in the property but we had no alternative). It wouldn't take much to make this a 5* cottage with the beautiful location and facilities.

The cottage is in a fabulous location. It’s a short drive to the shops in Keswick but wonderfully secluded away from the hustle and bustle of the town. If you want somewhere to truly escape you won’t find a better place. The powerful rain shower has plenty of hot water and there’s lots of room (not a tiny cubicle). A fully equipped kitchen with everything you could need to prepare meals. The views are incredible from the bedroom window when you wake in the morning. Heating is fully controllable, large TV with Netflix and other options to watch. It’s very dog friendly, check in was easy and Peter is the ultimate host. Highly recommend this place thank you for everything!
