Liked: Property conditions & facilities
PROS: The property looks like the photos which is always refreshing to find. Lots of cute cottage appeal. It is in a hamlet with a near by ish village with local good amenities and lovely pubs. The bedsheets were super soft! Quality bath towels were provided. Kitchen was stocked with a good set of crockery and utensils. Descent size fridge.
CONS: It’s an old property so prone to dust and cobwebs appearing however, I would not describe it as having recently had a thorough full clean, yet due to C19 a 9am check out was imposed to give time for a rigorous clean between guests. This was also noted in a previous review and despite the owner not agreeing with them, I would. The dining table had very skinny uncomfortable benches and so we didn’t enjoy long lazy meals, in keeping and space saving but not comfy. The sitting room area seated 4 people perfectly, room size did not allow 6 to enjoy the room. Needed to call for a maintenance visit as the upstairs toilet seat was broken, this took 3 days to occur. The house is on an active bus route and all drivers can see into all of the rooms as they slowly manoeuvre the tight corner as the house is right on the roadside. No chest of drawers or table in the ensuite bedroom so lived out of a suitcase for the week. Tiny courtyard space.
OVERVIEW: Post visit we felt the house was expensive. Looks cute but not for us again as the practicalities of it didn’t live up to the idyllic photos.
