Bring a heavy coat [in winter]...
Look, I don't want to be that guy, but I'm gonna be, to some extent, right now. Let's start on a positive note though - It's a beautiful house. Plenty of accommodations. Lot's of activities. In the right season, a large family or group of friends would thoroughly enjoy themselves. But... I was there in the middle of winter. There are three thermostats in the house. Two of them worked without an issue. However, the unit that controlled the main level, no matter what we did or how many times we tried, nothing. This meant that every day we were there, the main areas of the house were between 57 - 62 degrees. Couple this with the fact that the fireplace in the living room is off limits - it sucked. We laughed about it, but we also were sitting on the couch at night in heavy coats, beanies, and even mittens. Now, I didn't check myself, but a member of my group who tried to get the hot tub going, said it didn't work either. Even planning meals, thinking we could use the outdoor grill, another member of my group tried to use that, and no luck. So, at one point we turned the ovens on let them heat up, and then opened them up to try and warm the kitchen while we were in there. Yes - absurd, I know. But, it was so cold. The last thing that was disappointing was the cleanliness situation. When I arrived first there was expired food in the fridge and empty wine bottles left out on the counter. No one wants to immediately have to clean when they arrive...
